The worst thing about this is that Keita is dogshit, but he was our best midfielder against Brighton...

You weren’t around during Woy Hodgson, Kenny and GH’s days then. That wasn’t the worst.
yes it was - I remember the Wroy, Kenny and GH's days - none of them were as bad as the match yesterday - don't tell me ever you have seen a worse game than the one on Saturday. Regardless of what score you witnessed in the other games all those years ago, the game yesterday showed a total lack of everything that makes any of those players say they are a professional footballer, it really was kids against men. Also you cannot look at the game yesterday and think that those players should have been outplayed by so much. It was fucking bad.

Oh stop being a drama queen.

Nothing is more painful than watching a Woy Hodgson's team made up of world class players like Paul Konchesky, Jay Spearing, Lucas, Poulsen, Jonjo Shelvey, Jovanovic, Eggnog.

We're going to St James Park on 19 February. And before that, Mykhailo Mudryk makes his debut against Joel Matip. Let's reassess then.

The answer was not "would i like to strengthen" it was, in my reality, with what is available, is this the best time, vs another time.

The reason that Klopp was able to build his team was his patience in waiting for opportunities, but he shouldn't have to demonstrate any patience right now.

We don't have any money so stop fucking asking the qn.

Like your parents asking if you are going to date Anne Hathaway. "I don't see it Dad"

I was looking at the length of some midfield contracts we handed out.

Fabinho - Aug 2021, signs new deal till 2026.
Henderson - Aug 2021, signs new deal till 2025.
Curtis Jones - Nov 2022, signs new deal till 2027.

Looks like Fabinho, Henderson, and Jones are well-placed to take over the void left by Ox and Keita. I will be dazed if our data folks in the background approve these contract extensions. Or maybe they did and realized the issues and are now getting out before things get worse. I can't imagine watching a progressively worse Fabinho and Henderson plodding around in our midfield for another three seasons.

I like your analysis here, if it comes to fruition.

I’ve been questioning whether we’re only applying stats to new signings or what

Fabinho you could understand extending, the other 2.....

Again, you have no concept of home grown quota's. Jones is a useful squad member, especially if Oxlade-Chamberlain and Milner are going. Henderson likewise and he's our captain. Henderson will slot into the Milner part time role hopefully after this season, if/when reinforcements arrive.

I know the concept of homegrown, I just don't give a fuck.

I want to add one more data point

Harvey Elliott - Aug 2022, signs new deal till 2027.

Not trying to zero in on Henderson and Jones. I like Jones and have a record of defending him on here.

But with Henderson and Fabinho, we now have two players with currently unacceptable levels of physical intensity for a Klopp midfield and potentially even more diminishing physical ability in the future, eating up around 350 K (give or take a rough estimate) of our salary for the next few years.

Add to that Jones and Elliott, whose wages I am sure will be lower but still will take up midfield spots because: (i) somehow we cannot sell players anymore, and (ii) we absolutely will not buy until we sell. So there is a good chance that four midfield spots will be taken up by players with physical intensity levels, which are not enough for a Klopp midfield for the next few years.

So we better hope like hell that whomever we buy, you know, the "right" midfielders, are not only great, but they have Gini Wijnaldum levels of fitness and lack of injuries. They better be able to handle Klopp-ball and play week in and week out, 50-60 games a year, at high intensity, without getting injured, at least till 2026.

Maybe we are experiencing this as a punishment for calling Gini a ghost and all sorts of names. Is there any ritual we can do honoring Gini as a form of penance? Maybe a weekly discussion of his greatness, a stickied post?

Salah allegedly meeting with the boss of PSG - that Quatari man after the brentford game.
Are we selling him? or Selling the club? Are they just mates?
