They want to tie him to a seven year contract like their shiny new toys but Mount is unwilling - might be looking at the number of signings Boehly is making and figures he'd will soon be crowded out in a sea of midfield signings like Enzo, Caicedo etc. His contract runs out in June 2024 I believe. I'd love it if we put a 40m bid on the table now and tested their resolve.

Do we have space for another player like him, given that we already have Harvey and Carvalho on the books? He is a much better player than Harvey and Fabs, at least, he is significantly ahead of them due to experience, but not sure if spending money on him would be the best use. We desperately need proper midfielders.
 
I often see tweets from Chelsea fans complaining abt him but who knows, maybe someone like Klopp might be able to untap his potential?
 
Yup, a very divisive player. Half the Chelsea fan base seem to hate him but he's been the teacher's pet of Lampard, Tuchel and now Potter seems to rate him too. So theres something there.

Obviously we would still need another midfielder, but I think he'd do great further back in a midfield three. That's where he played for Derby.

Mount would be a great signing as part of a midfield rebuild; hopefully including Bellingham, Nunes and someone with a more physical presence such as Khephren Thuram or Kone.

Would prefer Madison over Mount.
Not that I for a moment believe we will get £250m whilst FSG are at the helm but in the world of the imaginary.

In fact what English player out there is actually doing a decent job on the pitch for the club right now?
 
Another player who disappears when the going gets tough. Just sign up Ox and Keita and save on the transfer fees.
 
I like mount, but as others have said, it's a redundant signing when we've got Harvey, Fabio, etc who aren't able to play in their best position. Why add in another
 
Mount can get fucked. He's overrated. Gallagher wouldnt be the top of the list but for the right price then maybe.

I'm pretty sure both Matip & Jones will get another season. That midfield three won't be touched but supplemented with I hope two starters (I'd be really shocked, if we fail to make Top 4, if Jude came here). So 4 midfielders out and Bjcecic and Doak (and Morton perhaps) come in to make up the 4-5 new full time squad midfielders. Thereby giving us a stronger overall squad.
