I get that there's no loyalty these days in football, and a player is entitled to be pissed off if a big money move is blocked, but it's a bit rich when the likes of Coutinho then start stories about how 'hurt' and 'angered' they are by the club's 'failure' to allow an 'amicable' move happen. What's the club supposed to do - simply accept the offer, arrange for a soft-focused 'I would like to thank the fans/YNWA' valedictory video to be filmed and then wave him off at the airport? Anything other than that and LFC are evil, wax moustache-twirling, Dickensian cads? What a load of tosh.
