"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

Coutinho has ‘absolutely no idea’ what Catalan press are talking about

Last night, Liverpool fans were given the very reassuring news that the club has no intention of selling Coutinho, despite Spanish media outlets talking up the possibility of our Brazilian joining Barcelona…
Melissa Reddy confirmed as much in Goal, suggesting Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool won’t budge and our no.10 is happy at Anfield – not agitating for an exit in any way.

The likes of Sport and Mundo Deportivo are closely linked to the Catalan giants and often help unsettle their transfer targets with bold stories about Barcelona closing in on them… Real Madrid do it too with Marca; and it famously worked on Tottenham duo Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.

But a tweet last night from Brazilian football journalist @BrazilStat, who’s given us a very interesting interview before, claimed that the player himself is genuinely confused by the lies made up in the Catalan press that he’s already agreed personal terms with Barca.
From a source close to #Coutinho‘s entourage: player has “absolutely no idea” what Catalan press is claiming about asking the club to leave.

So there you have it: despite Barca bidding £72m (it was rejected out of hand), the player hasn’t agreed anything with Los Cules and is currently enjoying Liverpool’s training camp in Germany.
This is the situation and we’re completely sure he’ll be wearing red at the start of the campaign.
Where is this from Glen?

Coutinho 100€ to Barcelona Deal Agreed is now being widely reported in Spain #LFC #TheFirmAlwaysOneStepAhead

Hopefully, we'll 'learn' a thing or two from RB Leipzig and Southampton (if those latest reports are true)

So they're saying there are reports in Spain. They make no comment on whether a deal's actually happening.

Oh yeah Gylffi is right up there with Coutinho.
Ffs

Isco we should be signing anyway. Hes class

Saunders reckons available for 30 million. No wonder talksports employs tiny minds like him and Murphy.

This could turn out to be yet another disastrous summer window. It's looking increasingly likely. Missed out on keita and made a show of ourselves, looked like a right gang of nobs over van dijk, and coutinho could get off. Well done.

Coutinho is going nowhere. Don't know why i feel so confident but there's not even the slightest doubt in my mind.

Keeping Coutinho represents a top top signing. Who needs Keita and VVD? (Obviously we do....)

Sooo ... Am I the only one that would hit the "Yes" button if Barca offer £100m+ ?

Couthino is not the same as Suarez, Torres or (for the less young) Owen. He's a top player no doubt but parrallels to previous sales don't hold water with me. I'd suggest Mane is our best player and Llalana is a reasonable sub for the CM distrib/assist role

[edit] Ooops just made Adam Welsh!

Nope, I would

Who would you replace him with?

I'd sell as I don't think he's world class and still goes missing a hell of a lot. Like others have said, it's not ideal selling your better players considering the strength of other clubs. However, I do believe we could be stronger for it. My initial thoughts would have been to play keita further forward (doesn't look like he's signing now) and get another DM.

So, perhaps get another striker such as Aubameyang (I reckon BVB will sell if a decent offer comes in at £60-70m, even though they have said not. But then again I'm not convinced we'd get the deal over the line). If we could get someone like Aubameyang then we could drop firminio deeper or get another midfielder such as Sanches, Moura or Goretzka.

All a bit fantasy football like I guess, haha.

I don't agree, but at least you've thought it through!

You couldn't make it up. Barca really have no shame:

Liverpool have sought to play down the exit talk surrounding their prized asset, with an understandable reluctance on their part to sanction a big-money sale.

Barca appreciate that stance and have vowed to carry out any recruitment business in a professional manner away from prying eyes.

Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu told reporters in America ahead of an International Champions Cup clash with Clasico rivals Real Madrid: “Coutinho? He’s a great player, but we can’t say anything. You have to be discreet'.

To be fair, we could definitely learn from the discreet remark

So according to the papers they're willing to give us Rafinha, Denis Suarez and Rakitic for Coutinho. I would accept if that offer included another £20m

Accept the players they don't need as they are Coutinho as the solution? Nah... let them roth in shitty Catalunia with their expensive flops. We build a champion team with Coutinho!!
