It would be an unmitigated disaster if we lost Coutinho this summer. Not just on the pitch, but what it says about the club following what we've seen the last couple of months.
Gotta accept the reality ... we struggle to keep top players - for obvious reasons - and we're struggling (for various reasons) to attract our top targets ... it's worrying but that's just our club nowadays.
If - IF - that's true, someone at LFC needs to sit down with the guy and ask him to think, carefully, about how often he reckons he's likely to do that if he goes there now.

I don't think failing to sign Keira or VVD is down to the perceived stature of the club, as they both, reportedly, wanted to come.
Agreed and, if (as I suspect) Klopp has a lot to do with that, the position should continue to improve in that regard.
It would be insulting if he did want to go. This is not Mascher seeking to escape from Hodgson, or Suarez from an under-spending team managed by a relatively inexperienced coach. This would be someone wanting to leave one of the best managers in world football, and a club that has Champions League football and is looking to buy big for the first time in ages. Gerrard's still around, he should take the little guy to one side and have a strong word.
Agree 100% with that analysis. This time round its very difficult to accept this decision if true. Our biggest priority this coming season should be:-
1) ensure CL footy for the season after
2) ensure we perform really well in Europe against top sides and the pussies. Really need to show that we are back.
Exactly. We'd hold very little pull for him over Barcelona. If he goes I won't be surprised or even disappointed. It's just the reality for us right now.

If we do sell Coutinho, the ideal replacement would be Dele Alli, but he might cost more than Coutinho.
