I'm honestly starting to hate Torres. If he wants to stay, then stay, if not, he can get lost. He's a little bitch.

Same for Mascherano.

Overreaction much?

As far as I'm concerned Gerrard has paid his dues to this club and earned the right to seek assurances, he's been here through the decline of Houllier and Benitez, his relationship with Rafa was always strained, despite the papering of the cracks, he made that clear in his book and of course it was more obvious towards the end, but regardless, he stayed. Torres has been here five minutes, happily took his improved contract offer without questions asked, and now needs *two days* to be talked around into staying?

Whatever, people can be upset about 'the reaction' he's getting. I'm sick of him always being injured and then having the audacity to demand assurances to stay.

Whatever, sell him, cash in.

AWful awful post!

Best striker in the world? What, for five games a season?

No Sheik, I'm not 'privvy' to anything, this is a forum, I'm speculating, is that okay with you?
FFS.

20 goals last season.

33 in his first.

5 games me hole.

Re: Purslows in Spain

I can see where Anita is coming from tbh.

We've been through this before with Owen, and he COULD have put this matter to bed a long time ago. It shows he is thinking about leaving. That leaves who he could go to? Chelsea? Man City? Barcelona?

I don't think Barcelona is an option anymore, so that leaves Chelsea and Man City. If he leaves us to go to one of those shitty, little detestable Johnny-come-lately clubs then he really is not the person any of us thought he was. It would show all of his brown nosing towards us in the press, how he loves Liverpool, how he would never leave for another Premiership club, was a load of bollocks.

He could be thinking about doing that to us, and if he is, fuck him.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Oh and before anybody jumps on my post - that's a lot of if's and but's, and in no way fact. I don't want to sell him at all, for any price.

But if it turns out to be true, and he doesn't want to be here any more after 3 years of telling us we're the shit, then he can fuck off.

Totally agree, you could understand a little if it were the Barca's of this world, but if he left to play for one of Citeh or Chelsea after the "I love Liverpool" show the last 3 seasons then he really is an utter cunt........

Although to be honest, I still believe in him and I think the meeting is more to do with takeover / Purslow talking to a player in Spain?

I just have this feeling we are in for Aguero.

Aguero? That would be a coup
Certainly would be, but maybe the red wine is talking a little too much at this hour.....

However, the way things seem to have progressed this week I wouldnt rule anything out right now.....

Re: Purslows in Spain

Yeah that does seem optimistic. Especially, unless we're getting investment or selling Torres.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk of Aguero moving on, now that you mention it.

I never thought he was that person, I expected him to break our hearts, however if he did it now and in that manner it'd be very cruel indeed.

Regardless, we should do everything we can to keep him, and I should think that's what Purslow is doing.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Jayzus, what a difference a year makes, eh..?

Last summer, anybody who didn't like the reasons behind another influential Spaniard leaving us got lambasted by Miss Anita Red, for not understanding - This season, she's getting an early start into Fernando, just in case he might be thinking about leaving, maybe.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Don't be silly Farky he is in Spain plotting the downfall of the club and further plans yo help our chairman turn Anfield into a Chelsea FC shrine!

Oh yea, that.

Trouble is, when I say "everything he can do" it involves talking, there's no promises he can make.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Has the glooms and doom returned with the thunderous dark clouds after a couple of days of relative calm and sunshine?

Re: Purslows in Spain

For me the bottom line is, if he goes, he can fuck off.

Maybe if he'd been fit for a bit last season we wouldn't have come seventh. I'm sure after contributing nothing to the world cup and still coming out with a winner's medal he's keen to get another, whether he plays and helps out or not.

3 years without a trophy and even less likely he will get one at the moment.

And yes my point was that all this shit been thrown at him when he has said nothing is f*cking disgusting from fans that should know better.

Torres is a model pro and easily the most likable big foreign signing we have made in decades.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Maybe the Snake is in Spain to convince Torres to MOVE instead? Two days in the box now...

It'll be a shame if he goes, but fuck it, if we get 50-60m to invest in the first team I'm not really all that fucked. I'd rather have 2 or 3 quality players who play week in week out than a world class star who plays half a season.
I'm really a bit torn over it. I'm much happier Gerrard is staying.
My head says you are right.
My heart is breaking.

And I wouldn't be 100% sure that you don't feel the exact same way Oncey.
if I knew he'd be fit then I'd 100% want him to stay. But I don't think he will. I didn't think he would last year. We aren't in a position to sit about each week waiting for our 50m player to get over what ever knee/ankle/groin/thigh twinge he has this week/month/season. If he wants to stay fine. If he wants to go sell. I'm not convinced we'd be any worse off. IF of course we re-invest the money wisely!
This
All of the above.

Seriously though who is going to buy him at a price we would sell at ? 50M ? No thanks. 60M ? I'd need an arm twist. 70M ? OK, want it wrapped ?

Citeh ? Yes, but then he's really not sure they are going to be any better than we are. THey've proved nothing and if he wants a move because of his 2nd child on the way then that rules out Citeh too.

Chelsea ? Can't see them raising the cash and they still have Drogba - one season too early for them.

Barca ? Where are they going to find 70M ?

Maybe, just maybe, this has more to do with us checking on his health, laying out the season ahead, discussing transfers in the works or targets, or maybe Purslow has just touched base with him whilst negotiating on other targets in Spain. You don't need 2 days to 'persuade' Nando one way or the other, and even if you did the man for that would be Hodgson not a money man.

....... and if we truly want him to stay and not the money then ..... "Nando you have a 5 year contract and we are NOT selling. Now, baby to be born in Liverpool or Madrid " ?

Re: Purslows in Spain

He will NOT be leaving liverpool this season. Everyone needs to just calm the fuck down, so he is taking his time and talking to purslow to find out the clubs ambitions etc, he has every right to do so. When he stays and is winning us most games by himself, anita and whoever else is giving him shit is gonna be saying "ohh i love torres". Be a true fucking fan, and back your players through the good and the bad.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Firstly it doesn't say anywhere that he's in Spain, which I doubt he is anyway.
Secondly, Gerrard didn't say anything until he had finished his holiday. Fair enough.

Let Torres do the same, he's entitled to a couple of weeks off, and then he'll talk to the media once he's returned. It will all look horribly idiotic won't it the mass hysteria reactions.

If he leaves, fair enough. But after getting Cole, Gerrard staying, getting rid of deadwood and bringing new players in and possible investment on the way. It's fairly certain that we are moving forward. I'm dreading his first interview, but my gut feeling says he's staying.

Re: Purslows in Spain

Torres will make a decision one way or another. He has a contract with us simple as that.

I'd like him to stay but if he leaves, then so be it. 70 million will do nicely thank you!

Re: Purslows in Spain

For all we know, Purslow called on tuesday to say that we've got Joe Cole wrapped up, and again yesterday to say that an announcement would be made on friday regarding investment.

*Cough Cough*
*Prepares speach for Optimist of the year award*

Re: Purslows in Spain

Let's give Torres the benefit of the doubt ... I'll wait for him to confirm his intentions before getting all worked up.

Re: Purslows in Spain

It's a forum LeTall. You're allowed to speculate and, based on those speculations, call our players bitches. Waiting for facts is not necessary.

Ha.. Whatever.

I'm actually with Anita on this. He was injured all of last season, not his fault I know, but it was part of the reason we failed so badly. We've given him everything we can as a club and now we are trying to give him more by realising the manager (Rafa) isn't upto scratch and trying to push forward with what we've got and by adding quality to the existing very good squad.

He's spent all Summer being a twat. Like I've maintained throughout, it's piss easy to release a statement saying "I'm staying with Liverpool", he hasn't, so there's clearly reason to be concerned and as said, if he does go, I'll lose every ounce of respect I once had for him. When the going gets tough eh?

Pursssssslow has been talking to Torres for *two* days?

That's not possible, one of them would have fallen asleep
