Where has this Aguero talk come from?
Nowhere. Just a player we all admire. IF Torres was to leave a move for Aguero might appease some of the fans. There isn't many strikers that could appease the fans. Losing Torres would be huge. Villa would have been an example but that door is obviously closed. Would people be happy with KJH being the replacement for Torres? I'd want more than KJH to get over the loss of Torres, if he was to leave.

Hmmmm....

Hi Sergio, now admittedly weve purged the club of Argentinians over the last couple of seasons (but Im sure they all must have said nice things about the club), and are in the process of reducing the Spanish headcount as well (ditto), but how do you feel about upping sticks to Liverpool? No, no, I think you must have heard incorrectly, in no way did your international captain say he wasnt particularly settled in the area - in fact his wife LOVED it here, not a hint of culture shock....

Re: Purslows in Spain

I didn't realise Aguero was a Liverpool fan. That is completely random.

Re: Purslows in Spain

He said it years ago after we won in Istanbul. I doubt he knows much about Liverpool, he just seems to enjoy that and followed us since.

He said he's been a Liverpool fan for as long as he can remember, though.

Re: Purslows in Spain

This was an interview from 2006, he would of cost us 12 mil this makes me sad.

Independiente's Argentine teenage sensation Sergio Aguero says he would prefer to join his boyhood club and Champions League holders Liverpool rather than German champions Bayern Munich.

Last week Bayern confirmed their interest in the 17-year-old Aguero, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a striker, but the Argentine talent is holding out for a move to English side Liverpool.

"If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League," Aguero is quoted as saying in the Munich TZ newspaper.

"I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there.

"I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente."

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has confirmed that new signings will be made in the summer and a striker is expected with the club's shot-shy forwards firing blanks this season.

With German international captain Michael Ballack seemingly on his way to Chelsea, Bayern are also on the lookout for a new creative player and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummennigge said a bid was imminent.

"Aguero has great ability and we need to make a move before the Spanish and Italian clubs join the race, otherwise he will be expensive," Rummenigge told Bild daily.

"He certainly would not be a snip but for a young player of his quality you sometimes have to be prepared to take a risk."

Aguero, contracted at Independiente until 2007, has not been capped by the Argentine national side but is still expected to cost around 15 million euros (18 million dollars).

Ah, I thought it was just after Istanbul. Fair enough then. Wonder how he latched onto Liverpool originally?
I know, that's why it's random. He would have first started watching football when we weren't particularly successful too. South Americans usually support teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid etc etc.

Re: Purslow's in Spain

Woah woah WOAH!!! There's an apostrophe in the title?
This isn't about Purslows fish'n'chip shop in Valladolid high street?

Re: Purslow is in Spain?

According to some other site Purslow is in France negotiating Remys move

Re: Purslow is in Spain?

Bollocks to that, if he's so desperate to sign for Liverpool then he should be coming to England, not the other way round.

Re: Purslow is in Spain?

I heard he was in the Far East negotiating on Honda ... but then I might have got it wrong and (you know the rest) ...

Re: Purslow is in Spain?

I heard he smote 50 mancs with one swing of his almighty axe 'brainbiter'

Re: Purslow is in Spain?

It should be pretty obvious where Purslow is.

Jounalist's just need to listen out for the rattle.

Such rookies...
