Is Pogba kinda average?

Pogba is a very good player but he ain't no number 10. He is the much talked about box-to-box midfielder everybody talks about it. He has it all and bags of unrealised potential which won't be brought to the fore under Mourinho. That suits me just fine 😉

That last bit is a good point, Mourinho doesn't trust him to play his favoured deeper role, because he's more likely to be a liability there. Maybe he thought he could be his Lampard of sorts, either way, as you say, it's great to see it not working so well.

Technically he's brilliant. I think it will click one day for him in the right system/with the right manager/as he develops.

In the short term I'm glad he's not delivering and long may it continue but I do think there's a quality player in there.

He has the ability to be a game changer but he hasn't shown it enough yet. However, I don't think he should be written off. I think the fee is too much, but if you overlook that he can unlock any defence around.

He would have gone for about 200million in the current market, considering what he went for back then, and he looks nothing like a 200mill player. He's more bothered by the colour of his hair and instagram than he is about playing football, and so is his bezzie Lukaku - and they both look bang average. They've not got the player that was doing so well for Juve, it doesn't look like he's readapted back to life here very well on the pitch. I'm not sure where he's meant to be best either, the utd fans are going up the wall as he tends to get played deeper and partner the DM, and they think he's better in the no.10, but whenever I've seen him up that end of the pitch he looks wasteful and not all that creative, more interested in 10 stepovers and trying to do it all himself, and failing.

One thing's for sure, if you spend 90m on a player you'd better be damn sure you know what you're doing with him.

Hopefully this will prove to be a tick in the Jose meltdown checklist.

Great player. Playing in the wrong system for his talents.

He'd play a lot better in 4-3-3. A bit like Jose had at Chelsea with Lampard. But I'm not sure United have the FBs/wingers/CF to play such a system, so his talents will be somewhat restricted.

Moments of brilliance but also often pedestrian. As many have said, the system doesn't suit him. He's having to graft more than he did at Juve and it's too his detriment. He's capable of the work but it certainly makes him look less than a world record signing.

I think the point everyone is dancing around here without making directly is that he’s a massive prat. He has the skills and athleticism but can a massive prat ever be really worth that much?

Yes if that prattish nature doesn't significantly detract from his actual performance(s), though whether it does in Pogba's case seems to be open to question.

I just hope that our record signing of 75 million GBP will reflect the price with his skill. Otherwise... some other fan sites will talk about our signing!

If he doesn't perform, THIS site will have a lot far worse to say about him than Red Cafe and the like.

He is the nearly player. Great set up play and dribbler with limited end product. The ox will probably get more assists then this guy by the end of the season. So it does make you wonder if it's Jose tactics

He's not a £90million midfielder, but he's much better than he's currently showing. As has been mentioned many times, the system is the main issue here, not the player.

He didn’t have much impact on the game, but he’s clearly a very good player, does simple things really well and can produce a technical flourish at any moment. The system at the moment doesn’t suit him - it seems like Mourinho figured out how to use him earlier in the season, then “forgot” again.

I've seen some sublime play from him this season and last but have equally seen him drift and look disinterested. Still has it all to prove really and Mourinho doesn't look like he knows best how to use him

If he was playing under Guardiola, he'd already be on another [higher] skill level. Right now, he's coming across as a posturing peacock whose audacious long punt may or may not come off.

This lot is really going round the issues and not nailing it down.

They were always going to suffer when Ginsoak left, but I can't help wondering whether losing David Gill was a body-blow of similar proportions. Our decline was kick-started when Sir John Smith stepped down from the chairmanship and Moores took over. Maybe ManUre have also been finding out how important it is to get things right off the field as well as on it.

So that's the secret of Guardiola's success.

He is a very talented player but mourinho as usual doesn't know how to develop youth. He just has players fit in his system and that's it. I've yet to see mourinho develop anyone. Likes his players ready made.
