Like wes brown, he's shite and I wouldn't want him near our club, and I find it inexplicable how they've managed to be at the mancs for so long

Because they keep contributing to United winning the league year after year.

Or something small like that.

Because they play doesn't mean they're good. Or are we using the circular argument 'they play games for united so they MUST be good'.

It's not really inexplicable.

United play a set system, from roots to the top. They play possession football, they teach their kids to play football, so even the lesser talented player can contribute by having a good football upbringing and having the basics of the game instilled in them (ie, keeping it simple, pass and move, etc).

It's fair to say that they have had some players that probably wouldn't get in the other top four teams, (Butt, P.Neville, O'Shea), but you also have to remember that these guys are homegrown and often in a United side that already has top quality, World Class homegrown or UK based players, so their talent is inevitably played down even more or overshadowed somewhat. They contribute and come in and do a no fuss job (though Brown does make mistakes).

For the record though, I think Fletcher is a very good player.

Players who play regularly in a side which wins title all the time do not have to defend themselves. O'Shea and Brown are obviously good players and underated by yourself.

I've just never been sold on them, in particular wes brown. They look the worse with him in the squad. But I'll happily agree to disagree

So going back to the first post in the thread. Is McCarthy any good? I don't think ive watched Wigan play all season.

I don't like O'Shea because he's a Manc cunt and when he scored against us once, he sent a text to a girl he knows very well from home saying:

'Tell your fucking boyfriend that one was for him Haha!'

The boyfriend in question was my brother, who was going out with O'Shea's friend at the time

The fucking mental Irish bitch

John O' Shea is from Waterford. I went to the same secondary school as him. Know loads of people who know him and all speak highly of him. He is often back in Waterford for local award ceremonies or events. Nice lad i'd say. Still, Manc cunt though.

Yes, well he should be a little less friendly with schizo psycho girls, thass fo damn sho

Mind you, he wasn't the bellend who actually went out with her

Excellent post. The one thing I'd add is that, with the success the Mancs have had, players like O'Shea have the advantage of coming into a winning team. Contrast that with the tall order that too many of our equivalent players have faced over recent years. O'Shea and the other United squad players might well have sunk without trace if they'd been in that kind of situation instead.

I would also add the treat of being dropped looms large, none of this playing yourself back into form in the first team bullshit. that is going to have everyone from the fringe to the stars chomping at the bit to perform week in week out because when you start to dip you're out of the team before you can blink.
