Insua fee agreed

Rumour about Insua getting 35k at Fiorentina. If thats true, it really makes you wonder who set up his contract when he arrived here. There must be some really horrible high wages contracted to shite players at this club.

Yay!

Now to buy a left-back who's not fat or injury-prone, and can defend. How hard can it be?
Apparently it's very hard... hence why we signed the injury-prone one.

Just a fatty to go and we're back in business

Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson were amongst the travelling party as Liverpool set off for Germany today.

Cole is in line to make his Reds debut in the friendly against Borussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday as the England quartet return to action following an extended break due to the World Cup.

The flight departed John Lennon airport around 3.30pm.

Liverpool: Gerrard, Cavalieri, Shelvey, Spearing, Irwin, Dalla Valle, Gulacsi, Johnson, Eccleston, Darby, Wilson, Ince, Amoo, Suso, Ayala, Aquilani, Carragher, Cole, Insua, Jovanovic, Aurelio.

That doesn't look a man that's been sold.

Erm why has Insua travelled to germany with the squad?
'cause his transfer hasn't gone through yet... read something about him wanting too much in wages.

There's a story on the previous page Fiorentina's site saying the transfer had been completed. Maybe they have defo pulled out completely, as you surely wouldn't be taking someone that didn't have a future at the club.

That's a very youthful looking squad. Why have some of the other first teamers like Agger not been taken along? Rested after the game on Thursday?

I heard Insua went to Germany soley for fitness reasons. Seems strange though.
I reckon that is defiantly a cover for something else, if fee's and everything else had been agreed you would never take the risk of him gaining an injury. It's surely Fiorentina's responsibility about fitness. I have a sneeky suspicion Aurelio maybe Insua's backup this season.

Seems like we desperatly want to get rid though. He's on a hefty contract, and we have to offer the same amount or more. 1 year left on his contract. Maybe it's because others are interested and want to see him in action.

Its strange though, I juat want the snail to leave tbh.

Every news snippet seems to think the deal will be wrapped up next week, this is very strange tbh. I fear Redshrek is right, the deal could be dead in the water so to speak.

If he play's tomorrow then it will probably dead.

Agreed, I'm guessing any other left back signing is dependent on him leaving or not. Fuck.

Course it is. We've got no money.

Roy should politely tell Insua to do one like he did Degen. Then again he did say that he liked the look of him and was powerless to stop his exit on his arrival. :'(

Degen's still at Liverpool though, isn't he?

Unfortunately, yes. Maybe we should insert a clause into the Mascherano deal that he goes only if Rafa takes his rubbish too!

Stuttgart and AEK Athens have been linked to Degen. AEK wants us to release him as they can't pay a transfer fee, while Stuttgart want loan move.

I'm guessing we've told the sale or no deal. I'd release him for free though if it was up to me.

Half a bar for Degen is good enough. We did get him on a free. Get him off the wage bill and out of Liverpool! I'll pay the taxi fare!

The Gazzetta Dello Sport are saying that the Insua move is still on.

NB Whilst we didn't pay a transfer fee we reportedly paid £2m in signing on / agent's fee

So if we release him, does that mean we have to shell out the remaining wages in his contract?

I never understood the math behind transfers.

Strictly speaking we do, but if a transfer's involved (as opposed to simply sacking the player) there'll be some kind of agreement in place which lets us off some or all of the sum concerned.
