INSUA FAILS TO AGREE PERSONAL TERMS WITH FIORENTINA

Tuesday, 27th July 2010 · Share on Facebook
Argentine defender Emiliano Insua has failed to agree personal terms with Fiorentina, according to sources in Italy.

The Italian side had reached an agreement with Liverpool for the sale of the left-back over a week back, with only personal terms left to agree.

Insua continued to train at Melwood while his agent negotiated with Fiorentina, who finished 11th in the Serie A last season.

However, Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has now revealed that they are finding it hard to match Insua’s wages at Liverpool.

“We have already reached an agreement with Liverpool but we are yet to reach an agreement with Insua’s agent on his wages,†he is quoted as saying.

“We cannot guarantee him the wages that he is currently getting at Liverpool.â€

Negotiations are still ongoing between Insua’s representatives and Fiorentina – with a move looking more and more unlikely after Insua is believed to have asked for wages in excess of £40,000/week.

He's gone, it's done, move on

There's an article today saying that the deal is now becoming difficult as they can not agree to pay the same wages (40K) as Insua was getting at Liverpool. Deal not yet done.
Insua was contracted on £2m/year .... at 19!

That figure has got to be horseshit. He isn't on 40k a week no way.
He may well have told fiorentina that's what he's on or that's what he wants to sign, but that isn't what he's on. It may be that he would have asked us for that to resign but is he fuckaslike on 40k

I've heard 40k aswell, so you never know.
It doesn't say that the deal is dead though, it says talks are ongoing.

We've already given away his squad nr, so move along please.

Take the fucking hint, Emiliano.
I know. Doesn't he notice that I've listed him as sold in the this years transfer thread.

He's still listed in the first team squad on the Offal - doesn't that come down pretty sharpish once a player's sold ?

How fucking rude!

He's not giving the ever-frustrating 'i'm staying to fight for my place' line, which in fairness he could easily do given that there is noone to fight.

He may be perfectly accepting of the fact he's not wanted, he just wants more money. on one hand that makes him a greedy cunt. On the other we did offer him a stupidly big contract...

There's a rumour on some other sites that his transfer to Fiorentina has fallen through.

We've apperantly paid him 40k a week, and Fiorentina won't pay that much. Hopefully this is bs, and he'll be on his way soon. I think he only has one year left of his contract aswell, and with the new rules don't we have to give him a new contract that is as good or better regarding wages because of his age?

Anyhoo, there's also some talk about Aurelio been offered a pay as you play contract.

i do hope so, i do so enjoy aurelio

Are we really paying Insua 2 million quid a year? Wouldn't that make him one of the highest paid players in Everton's history or something? I don't get why we pay stupid money for average players

you shut up!

This a classic example of what happens when you pay your top players outrageous money.

We're told that our star players are paid in excess of 100k per week.

Is it any wonder that Insua's agent should ask for 40K? It seems reasonable and proportionate for a first teamer compared with the star players salaries.

Just imagine what eye watering money some of the Chelsea, United, City players are receiving.

And we wonder why clubs get into financial difficulties given their income! You don't have to be a genius to know these salaries are not sustainable.

Our top earners are star players and proven performers though. They have a great deal of experience - they've been playing at the highest level for years, and their wages reflect that. I'm not saying it's right, but that seems to be the nature of football these days. Insua is 21 years old, and not long out of the reserves. It's absolutely absurd to think he's earning £40k a week.

I know everyone gets very pissed off regarding the owners management of the transfer fund, and the multiple deductions from it, but this is one of the reaosn why they use the "american" system of deducting the full life costs of the contract from the available expenditure ie. to ensure that salaries dont bankrupt the club further along the line. If you read some of the figures regarding Newcastle and West Hams salary expenditure its fucking scary.

Skysports.com understands Liverpool defender Emiliano Insua's move to Fiorentina is edging ever closer.

Reports earlier this week claimed the deal was in danger of falling through because of Insua's personal demands.

Fiorentina have agreed an undisclosed fee with Liverpool for the Argentina international as they look to bolster their defensive options.

Liverpool are willing to sell Insua despite their lack of left-back options as Roy Hodgson looks to raise funds for his own signings.

Fiorentina are determined to push through the move and it is believed both parties are now close to completing the transfer.

Insua is expected seal his switch to Italy next week to end his three-year spell at Anfield
