Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread yet - a draw is actually enough to give us full control of our own destiny at this point.

If City get only a point tonight and win their other 2 games in hand while we beat Sunderland, City will have the lead with 70 points above Chelsea with 69 and us with 68. As long as we match both these clubs' results (whoever's record is better) in all other games and beat them when they visit Anfield, we'll win the title.

Of course, the more points they drop tonight, the better for us, but for those who're feeling guilty rooting for a United win, hopefully this will make you feel a bit better hoping for a draw instead. 🙂

I'll be watching this in some pub in Leamington-Spa with two Mancs.

That's living right there.

I think I made up the 'On' there, must have added to the glamour of it all.

That's why I mentioned it. You don't want to over-glam "The Spa" or "Lem" as the locals call it. It's racy enough. Especially with work in the morning.

You're in a classic win-win situation though. Man U lose - give Man U fans loads of stick for being shit. Man U win - give Man U fans loads of stick for helping our league title challenge. Draw - use both attacks. Lovely.

"You're in a classic win-win situation though" doesn't get said to men in Leamington-Spa too often I'd say though.

Lemo they actually call it Ryan. If you asked for Lemo in Liverpool you'd either end up with some fizzy pop or a bag of cocaine.

The name of the pub sounds like something you'd take your fucking grandparents too on a Sunday for tea and wouldn't be ashamed if they shat on the floor.

I realize now that I can't cheer for them. But I can sit there and identify the positives from any number of outcomes, including a win for them.

The Pensioner & Turd?

Think I've been there.

Jon, you took me to a bar where some lad threw a pint glass through the flat screen behind the bar and not one person in there blinked a fucking eyelid.

So I think I'll happily take my chances in Lemy, with my hotpot and pint of Choosters or whatever the fuck it'll be called.

Ha, so I did.

I know all the best places to drink.

That's the nicest drinking establishment for miles around there!

It's not a joke, i take as much pleasure watching them lose as i do watching us win. I think its a fucking joke that most of you want them to win, i can understand why and if it was last game of season and it meant us winning the league, then yes, but it doesn't and City will slip up elsewhere! Come on City, smash them!

That is such a fucking shit, small time attitude. I love what's happening at Man United this season, but I guarantee you I love what's happening at Liverpool 100 times more. It's the kind of stuff we rip Everton fans on. You can't guarantee today that City will slip up elsewhere, so you've got to want them to slip up whenever and wherever they can. If they don't no biggie, I'm expecting City to win and if they do at least I've have the comfort of it being United they beat, but it's in our best interest for United to get something tonight and I for one hope they do. If City lose or draw tonight and we win, then winning the league is TECHNICALLY in our own hands. How in God's name could you not want that?

Man United are a complete irrelevance to us this season apart from the two games in the league we've played and beat them in. What's best for LFC is much more important.

There's a positive from every result tonight. There's not really anyway we can lose, but a United win is by the best one, with a draw a close second.

I don't want Utd to win - I want City to lose.

There is a subtle but very important distinction.

United winning tonight is a win-win-win situation.......

Win 1 is obviously that it improves our chances of winning the league
Win 2 is that the United fans, after they recover fron the shock of beating a much better team, will realise they've improved our chances of the title.
Win 3 is that it improves United's chances of Europa League football next season which will fuck-up any chance they had of reclaiming the title next season.
