I'm going to my next door neighbours to watch it, he's a good mate and a rabid United fan. There will be one other United fan there and a Leeds fan. The 2 United fans can't wait to see me "celebrate" a United goal although I've told them I won't do it. If united score I intend to remain "neutral", I've told them I will only see the positive side of their victory after the game as it's; a done-deal, there's nothing I can do about it so I might as well look at the positive side of City losing. Truth be told I will be very happy if united score but I'm buggered if I'm letting them see me look happy if they get a result.

This match is all silver linings & no cloud.

City will slip up elsewhere if its not here

Are we at a point yet where we can want them to win games? I'm not sure I'm ready yet. I'd rather city slip up elsewhere, I'd rather arsenal beat them the weekend but that's highly unlikely considering how shit arsenal are. This might be our best hope of them slipping up apart from against us 🙁

Yes, of course we are. If Utd beat city tonight then they know even of they win every game they might not win the league... Conversely, we know it's our own hands.

Also, if Utd do well enough this season they'll get in the Europa League next season, which will royally fuck up their league performance over the full season with 362 games or whatever the fuck it is, loads of them in eastern European countries against pub teams on farmers pitches.

I want them to win and I've got no problem with that at all, doesn't bother me a bit. It's not the first time: I remember most of us wanted them to beat Everton at Goodison towards the end of 2004/05. They lost, though, the twats.

We don't have to want them to win, we can watch it with a detached disdain and laugh at how bad United are if they lose; if they win then (and only then) we can look at the league table and smugly realise that United might have played a significant role in LFC regaining our rightful place at the top of the pile.

That's the best bit. If they win, they'll be fucking made up, then they'll realise that although they may have stopped city getting the title, they could have just dropped it right in our lap.

HAHAHAHAHA.

My manc mate is actually hoping they get beat cos he works in bootle & is getting unreal amounts of shit already!

They cheered us on I expect when we played Blackburn a few years ago on last day of the season

You have to look after number 1. A draw or united win is the best result for us. That's what I would like to happen. Saying you want United to lose regardless is small time. We can win the league. Let them take points from city if they can. I won't be cheering on United or displaying any levels of emotion watching it but i'll be silently content with them getting some points. If not, okay. Move on. Win Win really.

Saying all that, Kompany is back and I expect City to win. 6/5 in the bookies.

If Utd score I'll be cheering it, no doubt. I don't give a fuck. It's all about the title now.

If they can help us to the title with a win against their local rivals that's all the better.

But....but...but I have Toure, Negredo and Silva in my Fantasy Football team! United to win 5-4 with my City players involved in all 4 City goals please.

Think of their goal difference man!

Actually make it 7-4 just in case the league title is decided on goal difference.

Anyone thinking UTD will win... Have a word with yourself...

City will batter them...

They are more likely to slip up elsewhere

HELL NO!! I can never cheer them on, ever. Fuck the scum.... come on city!!

Unless you're joking here that is a small time mentality of hating United more than you love Liverpool. Our aspirations have changed towards winning the League. We have to overhaul City and Chelsea to do that. Any result that brings us closer to that aim is a good thing regardless of whoever else benefits. I won't be loudly shouting or anything, but I'm hoping United win tonight just as much as I was hoping Villa would beat Chelsea.

At least they aren't obsessed and bitter.

Oh come on, some of us were thinking the same at that Blackburn game a few years ago. Luckily we had the best of both worlds in the end but I was not feeling great when Redders popped that free kick in
