People on here seriously underestimates Christian Poulsen as a player I reckon.

Mostly because you've only seen him play once or twice I take it.

Roy knows how to utilize him in the best way and at a cut-down prize of £4M he'll be quite a bargain really. You just wait and see.
 
My cousin who supports Juve (see earlier in the thread) has convinced me. I was distinctly meh about this deal before, but he watches Poulsen regularly and that's more than can be said for most (perhaps any) of us. At the right price, I'm in favour.

And my cuz isn't even Danish BTW. 😉

I agree, from what i have seen of him he is a decent player and at the £4M quoted, that would be a bargain
 
I cant deny that 4-6m is a very good price for him. But we are buying a second teir player to replace a world class player. I dont really care if he turns out to be Shit or not shit or okay or 'Better than we thought' its a trade DOWN and no amount of Juve fans or Danes or positivity is going to change that.
I dont rate him, in fact i think he is horrific, but i will admit to only having seen him play about 10 times so maybe ive just caught him on 10 off days.

And I believe Melo had a pretty dire season for Juventus. He beat off rather stiff competition from Ricardo Quaresma to win the worst player in Serie A award.

He isnt as bad as everyone makes him out to be. Defensively he isnt as great as mascherano but he is abit more attacking minded than mascher. Cant say thats a bad thing.

As for saying he was kept out of the squad by Momo, Aquilani was kept out of the squad by Lucas. It depends on how retarded the manager is

I think he's right.

The fact that there's little other talk about anyone else is a good indicator; yes, we've been failry low-profile but when there's no news at all..well..
 
...then there's no news, period. Doesn't have any significance beyond that. There's a legit debate to be had about Poulsen's ability, but that particular suggestion of Oncy's goes far beyond any available evidence.
 
That's true, Avvy, but plenty of business is done in those last three weeks. We simply don't know either way.
 
I wouldn't mind this, if we used masher money to get a neat perfect Left Back (I don't know who is....someone like Cashley Cole)

The left back will have to be very strong defensively, and very effective going forward. He should also have a big bloody Rolls Royce Engine.

If our defensive line was very strong, we could probably get away with some one like Poulsen as the defensive midfielder, and playing Gerrard alongside him.

I think Poulsen is a better player than Lucas Leiva. He does a good job as a DM, and he is just as effective as Lucas in passing the ball (he is shit).

Coentrao's probably going to Chelsea when/if Cashley ends up at Real (or indeed to Real if Cashley stays put), I'm afraid.

Despite their categorical denial there is no interest in Coentrao ? In fact just minutes ago I saw Ancelotti say the rumours were 'Rubbish'.
 
Wasn't aware of that. It's just that I'd seen it in so many papers, not all of them rags, besides which such denials aren't always to be taken at face value. But fair enough, it may be just paper talk.

There is a big difference because a) no-one is making up doom filled scenarios and b) inventing transfers. People are just pointing out that our squad needs strengthening and that there are several areas of concern. Both points are correct.
