Untill he got injured at Juve he kept Momo and a few Italians benched.

Now I'm really excited.

Had a good spell at Sevilla, but looks past his best these days.

Don't know about that.

Untill he got injured at Juve he kept Momo and a few Italians benched. At least in the games I watched from last Season.
You mean the soon to be Kilmarnock Momo ?

I would much rather we had kept the cash and put it towards a better player. Defour would only be around double the price we are paying for Poulson.

Poulsen is shite. I guess this means the money ISN'T coming then.
Or it won't be here before the end of the transfer window.

From what i have seen of Poulsen, he isnt anything special but he will do a good job as our DM. And for 6mil its really not that much.

Or the actual explanation, that they can't have certainty in such a fluid situation involving multiple third parties, and can't spend money they don't have yet.

If Poulsen and Lucas are our starting CMs this season, we'll finish lower than 7th.
i dont think Roy would be that stupid, especially when you have players like Gerrard, Aquilani, Cole available to you

I would be fine with this if we fuck Lucas off and replace him with Poulsen. And buy a quality DM to replace Mascherano to whom Poulsen can be back-up.

If Poulsen is THE Mascherano replacement, it's a shit move.

Fucking shit. Didn´t Juve try to offload him before last season also? I wonder why...
Fucking shit.

Juve bought him last season as they didnt want to match the Alonso valuation. It was At Madrid who desperately wanted rid of him then. Shit player. Really really shit player.
Wait and see. It makes me sad were signing him.

On February 8, Poulsen scored his first goal in the 90th minute against Sicilian club Calcio Catania giving the win to his team after the game was heading for a 1–1 draw. Poulsen did not, however, impress many in his first season with Juventus, and was reportedly told by manager Ciro Ferrara that he does not feature in Juventus' plans for the 2009–10 Serie A season. However, Poulsen's determination and persistent unwillingness to leave the Turin giants resulted in the sale of Cristiano Zanetti to ACF Fiorentina, and subsequently leaving Poulsen with the team.

They wanted to sell him after his first season. And the "determination" that is mentioned I think was that noone wanted to buy him. I could be wrong though but I doubt it.

I'm not so sure about all this, now that I've heard from a Juve-supporting cousin of mine in Malta. Seems they've heard the rumours too, and he for one is not happy. In his view Poulsen's been badly treated by the Juve management, should still be in their side ahead of Momo or Melo as he has a more constructive side to his game than either of them, and has maybe a couple of his best years still ahead of him, especially as he plays in a more defensive role. I should add that this is someone who makes the effort to get over to Italy for some of Juve's home games and, while I don't always agree with him, I do respect his knowledge of the game.

Hopefully someone's mixed him up with Christian Purslow and the Liverpool connection and got it horribly wrong.

Roy obviously sees some value in the lad having lauched his professional career and going back for him? Maybe he is as bad as we think and roy is able to coax some super performances out of him.

I read a Juve forum and quite a few posters backed up this belief.

Unsurprisingly, they were also criticising Momo's passing.

The way I see it is if he replaces Lucas than that's fine.
,
If he's replacing Mascherano then we have to be more concerned, but it would be wise to see who else is brought in before casting a damning judgement.

His agent have returned to Denmark and told the press (tipsbladet.dk) that a deal isn't done. Says it's "unclear" if they'll come to an agreement. They will continue to work on it, but it's complicated.

His agent was in Liverpool wednesday and returned to DK today without an agreement. he don't even know if the clubs have agreed a fee.

Christian Poulsen's agent has revealed he expects the Denmark international to complete his move to Liverpool next week.

The Reds are thought to have targeted a move for Juventus midfielder Poulsen as a direct replacement for wantaway star Javier Mascherano.

Juve are believed to be willing to offload Poulsen as he does not figure in new coach Luigi Del Neri's long-term plans.

Anfield boss Roy Hodgson is a big admirer of Poulsen and confirmed his interest in the defensive midfielder earlier this week.

Positive

Poulsen's represetative, Jorn Bonnesen, has held talks with Liverpool over a possible deal and he is confident the move could be wrapped up next week.

"It won't take more than a week before this is sorted out." Bonnesen told Ekstra Bladet.

"It might be already in the beginning of next week. Christian Poulsen is Roy's man.

"He will be playing as defensive midfielder at Liverpool. I returned home with a good and positive impression."

Good.

Much better option alongside Gerrard and Cole in central than Lucas anyways.

All the doubters should remember that once Roys arm is around him he will immediately become twice the player Mascherano is.....................

Just kidding, not one bit happy about this!
