There is a 'way of playing' at ajax, and then there is something called common sense. I cannot believe how naive that defence was, no matter what they were told by their coach. The players should have taken matters into their own hands and dealt with the situation. If anything this season for us proving that we not only need potential but we need potential with a fucking brain to make the right decisions without 'daddy coach/manager' having to write/shout out instructions for each player in every situation.
Also looking at the guy at this age, he looks much older than what he is right now by about 7 years. He is too overdeveloped for his age even now. If he was standing next to VVD I think most would say they are the same age. I know we want to laugh at United, but I think if that article is true, it may actually be valid.

Circumstances in general may well do so as they're in such an almighty mess. Solskjaer being manager is part of that, but de Ligt's going to be expected to become their knight in shining armour though he's not even reached his twenties yet. Basically they'll drag him down with them.
