I believe in 4th

Citeh are 4 points ahead of us with 2 games in hand.

Someone said in the match thread, they need 9 points from 6 games.

We ain't getting 4th.

The maximum we can get is 64 points. Man City are on 56 points with 6 games to play. They get 9 points from those 6 games, they finish above us. Their remaining fixtures are:

Blackburn (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Tottenham (H)
Stoke (H)
Bolton (A)

That's a fairly simple run-in and 9 points should really be a breeze. The best we can hope for is pipping Spurs to 5th.

Probably not, but it doesn't mean there's no chance.
I'm aware of that.

But it isn't going to happen.

I'm feeling it big time now. 4 points off 4th with Citeh still to play Spurs and Spurs to play us.

The cats are among the pigeons now.
naw, no chance.
There is a chance. If Spurs are in with a shout, so are we.
No chance.

4 behind Citeh but they have a far superior GD so we actually need 5 ... and they have 2 games in hand as well.

Spurs ... yep deffo.

I keep looking at that games lost column in anger and disbelief. We have only lost 2 games less than Wigan who are in the bottom three.

Agree Jules. Would jose rally want it with fergie hanging around behind the scenes too?
He's arrogant enough to say I'm the manager now, fuck off.

just looked at city's fixtures, certainly not the easiest of run-ins - blackburn, everton and bolton away are not easy games, especially if they have one eye on the cup final and those clubs are still competing for survival (except for the blusenoses). beginning to feel slightly more optimsitic

He is, but he's also sharp enough to know it wouldn't do him any good there. The manager who follows Ferguson will have a real job on his hands coping with the burden not only of Ferguson's legacy but also, probably, of Ferguson's ongoing influence within the club.

That's a point actually, has the man ever took a job after someone who was really really successful?

Why would a manager get fired if he was really really successful?
Haha. Quite.

Real Madrid in the last 15 or so years would be the only example I can think of, which really exemplifies how fucking mental they are.

Del Bosque is the only manager at Real who shouldn't have been sacked when he was. Capello and Schuster(spelling?) were sacked for failing to challenge for the trophy they care most about, the Champions League.

Roman sacking Maureen was probably the most mental sacking by a successful team in recent times.
Capello had just won them the title though.
I know... but they take winning the league for granted and kind of know it will be their turn eventually, either when they get stronger than Barca or when Barca decline a bit. This is from speaking to a Real season ticket holder mate of mine and not my opinion of whether it's right or not. They're obsessed with big ears.
