Hodgson v Dalglish

Mark, everyone has an agenda over different things

Some people bang on about johnson, others kuyt, others about attacking full backs

All irritating

Is it more irritating because it's a legend?

No, it's not that at all and yeah I agree, we all have agenda's, it's the repetitiveness of some people that gets me and it really fucks me off that people keep pulling out the "He's getting away with murder because of who he is" stance.

Errr.. read the forum, he clearly isn't.

Exactly JJ. We used to get fucked off with Rafa and Ged's stubbornness and inability to break off the shackles, this is the opposite if anything, it's Kenny saying, "well it's clearly not working, let's try something else". It might be a bit too late but at least he's acknowledging the issue and not saying he's going to keep persevering at our expense in the hope it'll work, it's not going to without the right players. He's made a mess of things but at least he's saying something positive regarding changing it, and if that means changing his principles in the short term, then so be it. That's where a manager earns his money, in adapting to various situations and showing a willingness to be versatile with his tactics. It might not work but it's better than sitting there doing fuck all about it, and being stubborn.

we're not going to get relagated and europe is secured, if ever there was a time to perfect tactics it's now. changing your approach in a in attempt to secure points is a little desparate and slightly short termism. personally I think personnel isn't helping, for instance the reintroudction of carra is forcing us to defend deep, not rotating enrique is leaving us exposed at left back and so on. change the personnel don't change the tactics.

any new system is going to encounter teething problems but it seems everything we attempt to play expansive football we have set backs that force us back into our shells, like are destined to forever play counter attacking footballing (not that there is anything wrong with counter attacking football). we are relient on individuals to make our current system work and are a little fucked when those individuals are injured.
flanno, robinson and coates should be given games with injuries and loss of form.

i cannot be arsed to read this shithouse thread entirely. While the kenny has made mistakes i think time is needed and not hasty reactions! It might take a while but hasty reaction is a pointless endeavour! dalglish deserved another season. and this talk of who kenny brings in in the summer is ridiculous, comolli does the buying now!

Mostly agree, but the last bit depends on what you mean by "does the buying". If you mean "does the admin.legwork" you're probably right, but if you mean "makes the decisions" I doubt that you are. I'd stake a sizeable sum that Comolli, Kenny and Tom Werner are all involved and I'd also bet that Kenny, rather than Comolli, has the final say.

Agree

Because I'm nigh on positive commoli said kenny had the final say

While not saying that Kenny didn't agree with the signings I don't think that it would be totally outlandish to suggest that Comolli was the driver of the Carroll and Suarez purchases.
After all Kenny was only in situ a couple of weeks by the end of the transfer window.
The logic could even be stretched as far as Adam, who we very nearly also signed in the same January window.

Not sure about that Count. Kenny said that they were scouting Suarez when Rafa was in charge and Rafa sent Kenny to look at him.

No it's not, having to listen to same drivel, by the same monotonous posters, with the same fucking tired point in every thread is enough to get most people's backs up. I think a few posters have more than made their points clear enough times.

Swings and roundabouts Mark. Wasn't around here at the time, but i'm guessing you gave Rafa and Hodgson you're fair share of criticism during their time at the Club.

At the end of the day, the performances and results have been shit of late and there's a shitload of stats(whether one reads much into them or not) that makes for grim reading to say the least.
Anyway, up until the last few months, i think most Liverpool fans were behind Kenny and willing to be patient, however you know yourself, it's been diabolical of late and criticism for the Manager is inevitable. Questions need to be asked of what direction we're going.

Btw, if you go onto RAWK you'll see it 100 times worse in terms of Kenny getting flak.

To be honest, I think I was pretty fair to both, I also laid into both at some point when they deserved it and have sought to not go overboard about Rafa's legacy, but while they were here I probably defended both more than most did. I think myself, Vlad and a few others were a handful of the posters who gave Hodgson the benefit of the doubt from the off and didn't jump on his case after the first slip up (which was probably during pre-season, knowing this place).

Thankfully he's only taking a breather before coming back. A sensible move. We could all benefit from it at times!
