Thinks he owns the place

Would surprise me if he moves to the Saudis now after how outspoken he was against Qatar etc, and that he seems very focused on a new season for us.

Money talks I guess if he decided to move on.

Nothing but speculation. He wants above all to be in the reckoning for the Euros, he ain't getting that playing KSA. He is staying.

would be VERY surprised ...
a) he'd end his England career - which makes no sense.
b) it's bad for the team as we need a player like him after losing Milner this summer. Need leaders and players who can play numerous positions.
c) he clearly seems extremely motivated to show us and the league last year was an aberration ...

My thoughts as well. Which makes it weird that Bascombe writes a piece like this. Thought he was normally quite clued up so there must be something in it.

Would be surprised if he moves though.

Nor will he get that warming our bench 90% of the times.
will he though? Klopp loves Hendo, and he will get minutes. If he goes, I wish him all the best, and I hope we get a decent fee. if he stays, I am sure we will see a much better Hendo this season.

Our new kit 23/24 season, if Thiago and Hendo leave

Exactly. But he is 32-33 years old and might have received a contract offer beyond his expectations. Last chance to make significant sums of money as a player.

Thiago, Fabinho and Hendo as a collective dont offer value for the combined salaries they draw. Given the contract length and other factors, Hendo is definitely the most the useful of the three. Will be interesting to see Klopp and club's reaction. Given the fact that Hendo is considering, my guess is the club is ok if he wants to move.

Klopp has always been - it seems - of the idea "if you want to leave, go ... not keeping you at the club if you want out."

If Thiago, Hendo and Fabs all leave, my fear is we lose some of that gel that binds teams.

Yes he will, all this sentiment is rubbish.....timing is everything and now is the right time for us to move on as a club and him to close the chapter on his LFC career. He's done as a top PL footballer Imo.

I'd rather sell Thiago this summer than Hendo. He would offer the most in terms of leadership and being available for the season for us.
My guess is Klopp wont stand in anyone's way if they express their desire to leave.

Only way I think he'll leave is if he knows his role will be limited and that Southgate says his England spot wont be affected by it.

Funniest thing about this is, all the media reporting its Hendersons decision. And he could 'walk out on Liverpool'.

Err, we have a contract. It doesn't work like that. The club could just say no.

yea this sounds right but you’d have to say he visibly didn’t look like a guy who’d had any such conversations in the recent pre season video

big ask to uproot his wife and kids as well

Yeaaaaahah the Club has probably booked a 1-way plane ticket for him already. Probably engaged a few guys to whisper "don't go" into his ear all the way to the immigration counter too

Is it really that big of a change? It's probably just a year and they must be offering crazy amounts of money for him to even consider it.

Let's say he's on 150k p/w, they offer him 350-400k?
He just turned 33, and is being asked to compete with two big money signings in midfield. Maybe it is time.

The club are gonna force someone to stay against their will after 12 years of service? Nah.

Maybe it's time we be the cunts everyone else is.

And we gain what from doing that exactly (in this scenario)?

I’m pretty sure the board and owners act in the best interest of the club, they don’t and won’t ever give a shit where a player goes so long as there’s the money in it that meets their conditions.

I can see how the combination of:

The wages
The guaranteed captaincy AND playing time
The personal pull of working with Gerrard (and being integrated into a player coach type role)
The opportunity to extend his career as an integral part of a project

…would all combine to make him consider the move.

I don't think he will want to leave, but if he does I doubt the club would stop him.

If he stays he will continue to play a lot though. He may not start as many games, but he'll feature in most games.

Jordan Henderson has now been offered a minimum £30m tax free contract from Al-Ettifaq potentially rising to £45m
