Henderson

As a black person I feel for Henderson. I dont think he's a racist at heart but unfortunately, he used a word that you cant use against a black person. Did he mean it? No, I dont think he did, but sadly I think if he's proven guilty he has to take it on the chin and learn from that. The sad thing is that I can see Henderson saying the exact same thing to a white person...
What word did he use?

I hear you're a racist now Jordan. [bcolor=rgb(255, 255, 255)]How'd you get interested in that type of thing? [/bcolor]What's the clubs official line on this? Should we all be racist now? [bcolor=rgb(255, 255, 255)]I mightn't be able to devote myself full time to the old racism.[/bcolor]

Am I the only one who remembers the meaning and interpretation of FA Rule E3?

Henderson: "fuck off, puta"

Insulting word? Check. Reference to nationality? Check. Guilt proved. Absolutely no way around it. Just those three words alone will be more than enough to get him banned under FA Rule E3, and in the written judgement on page 73 it will say "the guilty verdict does not mean he is racist, but we've banned him under the rules we apply when someone is accused of racism, and we also wish to state our commitment to kicking racism out of football for no particular reason at all, and we of course extend our deepest sympathies to Gabriel, we will provide whatever counselling he may require going forward, and we also have offered to provide education to Henderson about racism and respect, but we're not saying he is a racist, thank you, come again". If he used another ethnic slur, or the word monkey in any context, it makes zero difference to the case other than it encouraging the FA to go for a longer ban.

So when players swear at English players. They need to use the word 'Puta' rather than 'Cunt'? Otherwise they are making reference to nationality under your interpretation.

There won't be a complaint made and no charge would follow in such a case, so the interpretation of FA Rule E3 does not need to deal with your example. In my example, Henderson using a Portuguese word during the process of insulting Gabriel is an implicit reference to his nationality. Therefore he is racist. That's what everyone wanted to define racism as to persecute Luis Suarez, so I'm more than happy for such clown outcomes to set back the real fight to stop real racism by several decades.

I hate to engage with you & I really don't know why I don't have you on ignore, but - the bolded bit is clearly bollocks. Suarez used the word "negro" (or "negrito", depending on who you believe); that was deemed racist because if you use it as a term of abuse in English it is racist. His defence was that it was commonly used in his language in a non offensive way. Rightly or wrongly that defence was thrown out.

He did not use it, nor did anyone claim he did, to refer to Patrice Evra's nationality (French). If he had called Evra a "sac de merde" and had been found guilty on that basis, then it would fit your narrative above. But he didn't. Neither was the fact that "negro" exists as a word in the French language (as it does in just about every language) used as part of the evidence against him.

You talk utter shite at times and try to pass it off as some form of higher intellect

Would you like to know why that's wrong?

It’s ok lads - these rules don’t apply to English players - it’s only those nasty foreigners that need to be edu-macated into what’s acceptable.

Even if he did some fuck shit, I genuinely think he'll be ok purely because he's one of Southgate's Great Three Lions

Yes, credit to him for improving his form. Maybe the duel with Declan Rice inspired him to put a little bit extra; either way he was good.

Not sure about clearly, Nunez and Alisson had game winning moments. He was definitely far better than he has been, he had a very good game.
It was pretty clear to me. Alisson, the obvious moment aside, and despite the fact that West Ham put us under reasonable pressure in the game, had relatively little to do-- other than pass. And on at least 2 occasions he played a catastrophic pass that should really have cost us the points. Nunez had moments where he showed us what he was all about, and he scored the goal, but his quality vacillated pretty wildly. Hendo ran the midfield with Thiago, played a number of penetrating passes that on another day could have ended in goals, and pressed relentlessly the entire game. We lost a fair bit of control after the changes, but Henderson still did his job admirably.

I don't disagree with that, I though Henderson was great. I maybe just rate game winning moments a little higher, they're the hardest part of the game and what we've been missing a lot this season so far.

Personally I thought Kostas had a great game. Consistent crossing and set piece delivery, and completely nullified everything down our left

The fact he's not been brought up yet is consistent with the anti Greek bias this website has shown since our lord and saviour Kyrgiakos

Yes, he was excellent going forward and defensively.

What's the odds on Hendo finally playing himself to great form again, and then getting a 10 match ban for racism after calling Gabriel a "Brazilian cunt"?

It's probably because we have to put up Ginger Greek cunt that knocks around here.

Thought last night was his best game in....a long long time.

Got forward pretty well down that right side & that's what he needs to be doing more of but more importantly picking the right moments to do so...not floating & staying around in the #10 position when everyone can see we're about to get countered & then Fab left outnumbered against 3 midfielders (naturally) quicker than him.
