i'd love to know why that is shocking. did it make you cry?

i could flesh that opinion out much more appropriately but i can never be arsed typing out long posts about proper stuff.

Anyways I think this evenings mixed bag of jizz has vindicated my long term view that all the tabloids are as bad as each other and there's no point boycotting one, boycott the lot.

I am genuinely fucking stunned at the attitiude that some posters that I normally repect have taken over this whole issue... Either some of you are on eternal wind-ups (and very un-funny ones at that), or fuck me, yiz have lost the ability to see reason over this one.

Amen.

And with the internet, who the fuck needs them?

Is that the same mirror journo who wrote the racist headline? He is right to a degree the stance we took allowed nutcases to spew their bile but lets not pretend he himself is offended he is just trying to sell papers by painting the club in the very worst possible way.... make sure he knows he is not welcome at Anfield anymore if he is going to just write shit like that.

As to the actual incident has the boy said he was racially abused or was it a coin in the head? What kind of nobhead would don a Suarez shirt and then spout racist abuse during a game?? it beggars belief... literally... to the point of being sabotage of the club and its reputation... which has already been massively damaged whether we accept the verdict or not.

Last I heard from Ollie Holt ( 6pm friday) he was in Qatar. So fair play he's bound to know what happened at Anfield tonight.

have to say I've gone from thinking of him as an ok journo to being an absolute cunt in the past week.

Imagine crying coz someone called you names. Everyone went full homo after Diana died on this fucking island. John Barnes was flicking bananas out the way while he ran rings round Everton. He wants to ask Balotelli how he got on in Milan.

How has this tard got through life this long if a stranger calling you names is enough to make you cry in front of a crowd of 40,000?

Racial abuse is fucking horrible, but fucks sake, man up.

I'll tell you, it stings.
It's a combined feeling of humiliation, powerlessness and anger.
To be relegated to something that's allegedly inferior because of the colour of your skin...

I don't know if you're black or not, but if you aren't you'll never really know how it feels.

I overheard a colleague who inspects certain manufactured products call a defective product a "real negro job".
I didn't cry, but it makes you feel less human.
the thing is, i have always needed to respect someone to be bothered what they think. that's the part that myself and presumably woland don't get.
Fucking. Hell.

I'm sure Woland isn't entirely enamored by you grouping him with you. That's a shocking statement.
How is that shocking? It's a perfectly rational viewpoint.

I agree with Woland and Skully.
Everyone's being a bit touchy and sensitive. You see it all the time with race issues, it's an easy excuse for anyone to take the moral high ground and act all self righteous. I've been 'abused' in far a more aggressive fashion than what happened with Evra or today (allegedly), because of Nationality. I personally could care less at the time, and I certainly didn't start crying.

Racism is ugly and I loathe it good whenever it shows it's grim face in whatever shape or form, whenever.

There's a few things that tabloid has got completely wrong mind.

Tribalism? Well yeah, but not anymore than any other chant at any other Stadium in the world holding spectators anyways. If the author is trying to state the obvious that fanculture has a great ammount of tribalism surrounding it fine, but when trying to address it in this way it looks agenda ridden. The crowd were singing Suarez' name in support as the club and the player himself feels hard done by. It's got absolutely nothing to do with trying to justify eventual racistic remarks. At all.

It's a few morons alledegdly shouting something completely wrong at a black player, and that in itself should be completely banned from football and the rest of society but PLEASE don't mak this look a Liverpool-related problem. That is really hard justice and when I think about no justice at all.

I hope the authorities get hold of the persons involved, and that we as a club makes a clear statement as Athens I reckon it was wrote and we then move on united as a club and against racism. The Suarez chant is in support of the player and nothing else, that has got to continue and people has go to rekognize the true nature of it. Imo.

We just won 5-1, & I'm fucking gutted.

Whether that poor lad was racially abused, or had something thrown at him, he was in bits about it.

Once in a lifetime chance to play at Anfield, must be a dream come true. The scoreline doesn't matter, it's the fact you were there, & played in it, in front of the world famous Spion Kop.

Now what he'll remember is that incident. That's it.

His dream ruined by some prick wearing our fucking colours, in our name.

I hope they track down that 'fan' & prosecute the cunt, sticking his mug on every paper they can so his life is hell. Stupid bastard.

Now , not for 1 minute am i saying racist abuse from fans, whether its masses chanting or 1 individual shouting , is excusable but fuck me you're going well over the top here. He's not you or i getting a game at anfield , he's a pro , so yes it's a big deal but come on he's not some 6 yr old who's met Mickey Mouse only to be fiddled by him on magic mountain .

And at 20 or whatever, how the fuck would abuse from 1 fan reduce you to tears , even if it is of a racist kind...man the fuck up , walk away and report it to the ref .

Anyway i am fed up with all this shite ....the media are lookin for easy stories after we made a hash of handling the suarez thing and are labeling thousands of decent fans based on one fool . And you'd swear nothing like this goes on at other clubs around the world , seems some would have you believe it's just our problem.

We'd need a full inquiry before that could be decided

Witnesses reported seeing two fans wearing Luis Suárez T-shirts – similar to those worn by Liverpool players at Wigan last month, after the Uruguayan was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra – confronting Adeyemi. A witness who gave evidence to Liverpool officials and the police said: "I was to the right of the Kop and the No11 turned to walk away after a tackle. I heard a single voice shout, 'You fucking black bastard.' He spun round with shock on his face and started pointing at the crowd, from where the shout had come."

Merseyside police said that arrests were made at the game but not in relation to the alleged abuse of Adeyemi. A statement said: "Merseyside police can confirm that no one has been arrested this evening on suspicion of racially aggravated behaviour during tonight's FA Cup fixture at Anfield. However, the force and Liverpool Football Club are investigating following an incident that occurred during the second half of the game. The aim of the investigation is to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident to ascertain if any action needs to be taken."
we made a hash of handling the suarez thing
I don't think the club made a hash of the Suarez thing. I think they were absolutely right to back Suarez in the face of the vile injustice of the FA's committee. How else should the club react? Join in with the monstrous victimisation of our own player?

Racism is ugly, but injustice is also ugly. We have yet to find out more details about last night's incident, but I feel that racism and injustice may be feeding off each other.

Oldham manager Paul Dickov said he had not spoken to the player about the incident, but accepted something had upset him.
'From my point of view I have not spoken to Tom about it but I know the kid and something has been said,' he said.
The Scot continued: 'He is a placid boy, a kid who has been well-educated with a fantastic temperament and has been with us since the end of August and I've never seen him raise his voice.
'For him to react like that it is obvious something has been said but what has been said I don't know because I've not had a chance [to ask] - I was too busy praising my players.
'He is fine now. He has calmed down. He is a laid-back kid who just gets on with business.
'Our players went and calmed him down and the Liverpool players did as well, which was fantastic and is why they are top professionals.
'I have been told the police are investigating it but that is all I know.'

Whilst I agree with Jon that it was a cuntish thing to say/do, I also agree with RZ's assessment above. he is a pro - everyone knows there are racist twats in every society and there are certainly some amongst the average match going crowd - he should have just gone on with the match and reported it to the referee. In getting wound up he pushed himself into emotional turmoil without any possible means of immediate resolution and that severely affected his game, he could easily have got himself sent off for that ridiculous tackle (on Finnegan) ? I think the ref took some pity on him there knowing he was in distress.

Pros may encounter all sorts of abuse during a match (not that I am in any way or form condoning it) and should be able to handle it at this level of the game.

The bbc are reporting on the radio that the reason he got so worked up was that he clearly could identify the abuser in the stand and he was unable to approach the the police to pass on this information in the following melee. He obviously got wound up in his anger and frustration and quite frankly I think it is quite understandable his emotions boiled over into tears. Why should anyone be hardened to racist abuse in this day and age let alone a teenager. Notwithstanding some unlikely misunderstanding you do have to wonder about people - after the last month the clubs been through what an utter utter moronic act.

Holt knows very well that no ground makes more of an effort before every match to stress its opposition to ALL forms of prejudice, and to stress its determination to take action against anyone found to be flouting that stance. So it makes no sense at all for him to claim the club is to blame for any individual who breaks its own rules. Holt needs to stand back and reflect before his rage makes him lose what little logic he has left.

I saw the fan get ejected last night. It was quite stupid and I felt sorry for him. Why any fan would set off a flare when their team had just taken the lead is beyond me but I suppose he saw the best bit as far as he was concerned.

Furman declined to comment on whether the insult was of a racial nature.

"He was abused and I'll leave it to Tom and the police to investigate that," Furman told BBC Radio Manchester.

"What happened should not happen in the game. It has been highlighted over the last few months and it is an absolute disgrace."

When pressed as to whether the abuse was of a racial nature, Furman added: "It is difficult for me to say anything.

"When one of your boys is down like that we all feel it.

"Tom, the authorities and police will sort out the situation. I hope the authorities take heavy action because it was a disgrace. A lot of credit goes to Tom for the way he handled the situation."

I'm gutted that we scored 5 goals in a game and can't enjoy the result for what it was.

It's all good and well turning on every journalist that dare direct any criticism LFC's way, but you can't get mad at people for speaking the truth, many of us said the way the club had handles re Suatez situtuaiton could be perceived as them taking racism lightly, clearly some have taken it that way. Even Kenny refusing to comment on it last night, he couldn't have just said IF it was racial he and the club would do all the could to make sure that kind of thing is no where near the club. He's really not handled any of this well, acting aggrieved the whole time and not acknowledging the fallout and implications of what they were doing.

I feel very disappointed and let down by the club.

I don't think the two subjects should be conflated. Kenny handled it as he should have done last night. The club had already made its policy crystal clear. Nothing more should have been said until the investigation was completed. Any responsible journalist would have appreciated this completely rather than jumping to make knowingly unjustified links with the Suarez case.

Ideally, but given all the comments the same journalists have made about the danger of whipping up tribalism in the way the club handled the Suarez incident when something like this happens in the wake of the Suarez incident they're clearly going to make the connection to show they were right previously.

Of course they will, but that's wrong.

In the comments section on the Sky Sports website.. also I have heard this version of events since this came about last night...

The fan said "You Manc b*****d" which Adeyemi then reacted too having clearly misheard "manc" as well you can figure it out. Apparently this has been confirmed by at least 20 people who were at the match and saw it first hand. Also there was a group of Asian and Black fans around him who instantly defended him as they knew what he said.

As usual it's trial by media before any consideration of the facts. Why am I not surprised...

Arguably though calling someone a Manc b*****d can be seen as Rascism
