Chelsea is a graveyard for young English players. Apart from Johnson, look what they did to Scott Parker, Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips. All their careers suffered a setback after signing for Chelsea.

Add Sidwell to that list too. Chelsea is an woeful club.

Yeah they destroyed Lampard & J Cole & A Cole and Terry has done himself no favours staying there. 😉

Bridge went for the money and little else. Parker & Sidwell were never good enough.

So, any news on this front? This thread needs death but we never seem to resolve a transfer saga quickly, do we? I blame a lack of funding for inner-city community centres.

Portly's got a point to some degree. Bridge went for first-team football as much as the money. Parker and Sidwell were good enough to be at least bench options at most clubs but never got a look-in.

My Dad does look a bit like Nick Griffin, guilty by appearances!

I was a big fan of Scott Parker when he was at his peak with Charlton. 90 minute player who never pulled out of a tackle and was also very creative. I would have loved us to buy him at that time, but since his sojourn at Chelsea he doesn't seem to have recaptured his old form.

Yep it has his dead hand written all over - or is that his dead hand has been writing all over it - or maybe ....
