It would be nice to see a long shot once in a while from you. What happened? He rarely tries them now.
And it is truly laughable that when we are without Torres we completely turn to shit. Toothless.

Thats bollocks. I'm just pointing out something. He had a few opportunities to have a pop today and he didn't. It's been the same most of the way through the season.
He is going to leave. No doubt.

Sorry I was joking.

He's having a terrible season
- perhaps due to issues with Rafa?
- perhaps saving himself for one last run for England before retiring from that arena?
- perhaps he's hitting 'that' stage of his career

The drive and determination seems to have gone. That freekick we got around 65 minutes or so when he let Agger play it to Kuyt. Why not have an effort?

What does that mean?

FranklyFrank hates Gerrard.

He has been gash this season tho

I think he's tired of playing with useless cunts like N'Gog. He's deserved far more as a footballer than we've been able to provide.

He wont leave. But he'll probably havd much better season next year if we get a new manager an a few new players.

He looks like he's lost all faith, and he needs to find that passion again. I bet Jose could get him going again.

Thats it, I think.

He'll never leave Liverpool; but the problem is we dont really look like Liverpool any more.

The injuries seem to have taken their toll too, he definately looks a yard slower than any time previous in his career. Maybe he might finally be suited to a more central role now that he doesnt have the injection of pace to leave defenders trailing with a surging run

If he wants out then fine he would still command a big fee and I think hes peaked anyway, it would be far more damaging to the club to lose Torres, and sadly I think thats more likely to happen a massive bid from Barca or City would be impossible to turn down in our current state especially for a player who is clearly incapable of completing a full season

gerrard has excelled in worse squads so that's not a valid excuse

the guy is our highest paid player, it's not all Rafa's fault when players such as Gerrard go missing at home to the likes of Fulham

What s a valid excuse in your opinion, Neil?
he's been injuried and it is taking time to get fully into his stride, he is getting older so he is finding it more difficult to get into the groove (boy you've to prove your love to me, YEAH!).

not having torres is a valid excuse for him getting less assists but not for him getting less goals especially given the position he occupies.

Gerrard has had some recurrent groin problems if I'm not mistaken and this could be a primary reason why he hasn't been unleashing the cannon. He has definitely been playing within himself this season for the most part. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now and say it could be nursing injury based on what he has done for us in the past.

"go missing"

Fucking WHAT?

He was the only player on the pitch, along with Glenjo, who tried to win us that game. Picking Gerrard out of that bullshit for criticism is beyond ridiculous. What game were some of you watching?

I'm not saying he had a bad game Ryan.

It's just that there has been something missing with him this season. He is still our best player obviously but giving what we know he can do, I feel he hasn't shown it enough this season.

Fair enough Paddy.

I made a comment a month or so back about his lack of long-range shots possibly being down to an injury we mightn't know about.

As I mentioned above, it could be his groin. I've noticed a fair few of his goals over the past year have been sidefooted rather than lashed. At the time, many applauded the increase in technique over power but perhaps it was out of necessity.

Heh.

Rebel doesn't irritate me as much as he evidently does with others on this site, but the above is clueless dirge, and needed pointing out.

Dear Sir

Please refrain from using the word "dirge" again, until you find out what it actually means.

Many Thanks
Yes, and I think he's sick and tired of having to do so.

Gerrard has scored 3 goals more than David N'Gog this Season.

If you then withdraw a few goals from the spot of his I reckon they are about the same.

4 goals each.

If you then calculate their goal/per game ratio then the upper hand goes to Ngog as he's - although featuring 20 times already - evidently not enjoying the same ammount of playing time as the skipper when played. Gerrard's got 28 appearances so far in the Prem to show.

I'm not excusing Rafa here, I'm not saying that we haven't been mostly unlucky this Season, I'm not saying others haven't performed well either all I'm saying is that Gerrards ratio so far is nothing short of abysmal and we've suffered greatly from it.

He's normally hitting 15-20 goals in the League and with just a few more goals here and there who knows how many draws we could've turned into wins?

Gerrard is stil one of my favourite ever players and it's obvious you can't rely on one man to rescue your Season - every Season - I'm only underlining the fact that he's looked well out of form for most of the Season and that we're obvisouly still far to reluctant on his performances.

I totally agree with your point that Benitez has built a team that is totally reliant on Gerrard and now we are paying the price. Silly old Rafa eh?

I can absolutely assure you that every manager in the world would've build a team that would be very reliant on Steven Gerrard as he's been hands down one of the best plalyers in the world for at least the past five years.

And as we haven't had the money to buy anyone in his class (apart from Torres who's been perma-unjured all Season) it's kind of obvious that we would suffer greatly the day that he stops delivering the goods.

I know you're frolicking in Rafa's wrong-doings but it's blatantly obvious how some refuses to see that there's more to our current situation than just Rafa loosing the grip.
