Maybe, although I suspect he'll be knackered next season.
The injuries seem to have taken their toll too, he definately looks a yard slower than any time previous in his career. Maybe he might finally be suited to a more central role now that he doesnt have the injection of pace to leave defenders trailing with a surging run
If he wants out then fine he would still command a big fee and I think hes peaked anyway, it would be far more damaging to the club to lose Torres, and sadly I think thats more likely to happen a massive bid from Barca or City would be impossible to turn down in our current state especially for a player who is clearly incapable of completing a full season

Gerrard has had some recurrent groin problems if I'm not mistaken and this could be a primary reason why he hasn't been unleashing the cannon. He has definitely been playing within himself this season for the most part. As I mentioned above, it could be his groin. I've noticed a fair few of his goals over the past year have been sidefooted rather than lashed. At the time, many applauded the increase in technique over power but perhaps it was out of necessity.

If you then withdraw a few goals from the spot of his I reckon they are about the same.

I can absolutely assure you that every manager in the world would've build a team that would be very reliant on Steven Gerrard as he's been hands down one of the best plalyers in the world for at least the past five years.
And as we haven't had the money to buy anyone in his class (apart from Torres who's been perma-unjured all Season) it's kind of obvious that we would suffer greatly the day that he stops delivering the goods.
I know you're frolicking in Rafa's wrong-doings but it's blatantly obvious how some refuses to see that there's more to our current situation than just Rafa loosing the grip.
