That video just proved my point even further. Definitely a red card. It was an unnecessary challenge and ultimately cost us.
No it doesn't Carrick is the one who tackles Gerrard, not the other way around
Right so, Gerrard got the ball?
yes. in fact he did. and if you look at it you will see that his intention was to get the ball with his right boot and kick it toward the touchline.

instead the ball bounced of his left ankle and went towards the scum players. are you tellling me his left leg was there intentionally? and gerrard was looking to win the ball with his left ankle?

If Gerrard had led with one foot he'd have probably got away with a yellow. Two feet- = red.
Exactly what I said to my brother during the game.

fucking hell. is everybody blind except for asbo?

He isn't doing a tackle, there is NO ONE in his line of sight, HE gets tackled from behind as HE gets the ball and lands on Carrick
Hahaha. Right, OK. He's doing a two footed off the floor leap to bring the ball under control and Carrick happen to fall underneath him at the very same time which was (a) purely coincidental and (b) actually a foul on Gerrard. And even though he's not on camera at the moment of impact we know, as proof, the ref wasn't looking at it.

shouldn't Rafael have gone then?

I know it was a bit shit, but letter of the law, 2 feet off the ground...
I missed that challenge but if so , yes he should. Any clips of it ?

Give over, fellas. Nobody goes in like Stevie did just to kick the ball.
oh, so now gerrard is blind too

Don't know what he was thinking, don't really care. The end result was a two footed lunge.
Whichever way you want to put in the end it was an unnecessary challenge. In the middle of the pitch without any threat at all.
It kinda reminds me of that Everton game when he was subbed for Lucas. Just to much passion I guess.

My first thought was no, it wasn't as bad, but I admittedly haven't seen replays since.

Yeh me too.

It wasn't as bad, it was fucking shit, tame, and half arsed. But if you're off the ground with two feet you go apparently... there's nothing about the force behind it or anything.

Why bring Lucas into this? Nobody would prefer to have Lucas on the pitch than Gerrard.

Nobody who isn't a mong anyway

so he should have let carrick go past him and get the ball? that would make him lucas now wouldn't it

so gerrard has no idea where any players are apart from the ones he's looking at? again that would make him lucas now wouldn't it

Exactamundo. And he could have slid into the tackle instead of doing a Tarzan leap.
no. he was IN FRONT of carrick. they are both going for the ball. the quickest way to get there is to jump in. if you slide in, then the friction of your arse on the grass means you get there slower.

are you telling me gerrard isn't allowed to get there in the quickest way possible? why? in case the player behind tries to slide in? listen to yourself.

Neither do I but we won that game right and Lucas would have scored the winner if it wasn't for that rat faced cunts brother.
BTW you don't have to take it personally.

It's not me telling you, it's the rules. You're not allowed to tackle two-footed, and any tackle through the air is by definition a two-footed tackle. Unless you pogo into it on your todger.

I've no idea what you're on about now. One minute Gerrard didn't know he was there the next he knew he was there through telepathy? And Lucas isn't telepathic. I see. Actually, like Gerrard apparently, I don't.

ok, and what about the fact that it would have been a one footed tackle, had carrick not slid his knee into gerrards other foot?

It was rash, but it's the kind of tackle that happens every game. If that had been at Anfield (or had been committed by Fletcher at Old Trafford) it would have been waved away, and no one would have discussed it at all.

If it was a Man U player we'd have been baying for a red.

That's the way I saw it as well. Stevie was in front of Carrick when he went in for the ball.
