i think a lot of people on here need to pull there cock out of gerrards arse and realise he can make mistakes. He lunged in two footed with his studs showing, it's a no brainer. If another team, or lucas, had done that you'd all be calling them scum.Webb was correct, the penalty however....

He went in with 2 feet that left the ground, it should really be red, but as others have said given the angle and pace of the lunge it wasn't the most dangerous, and time was you'd get one of them in a game like this and especially if the ref had already fucked up. It killed any chance of a great game, I can't wait for Webb to retire.

It was a lunge. Steven getting carried away with the occasion. I fear it's too late for him to eliminate the occasional rash challenge. That and the commitment the others showed was refreshing to see though. If that level of commitment can be continued I think we'll be alright.

gerrard goes in with his right leg, and his left is bent, studs neatly tucked out of harms way. carrick is the cunt who slides into gerrard from behind and it is his knee which hits gerrards left leg, and that is what causes it to extend. gerrard is the one taken out here from behind.

the only reason carrick got hurt is because gerrard landed on his knee. so this is not the letter of the law. it is a fucking joke. webb is a cunt

Stevie knew Carrick was going to get there and went in off the ground with all studs showing. Red card. We'd have been livid if it were the other way round and Carrick didn't get sent off.

It's a red. Pretty hard to debate. Also quite hard to see if Webb actually was looking at it at the time...
 
One of those that could go either way, Webb ruined the game got the penalty woefully wrong... Initially I thought Yellow, but having looked at it quite a few times since, it was borderline red.

The penalty decision was a farce. If anyone should have been penalised it was Berbatov for one of the clearest instances of simulation you'll ever see. The assistant kept his flag down and it was ridiculous for Webb not to consult him.

Stevie's tackle however was a red card offence all day long IMO.
 
If Gerrard had led with one foot he'd have probably got away with a yellow. Two feet- = red.
