Arsenal are again looking at the German league to further improve their squad. Players from the German league by in large do very well in the EPL. We need to follow Arsene's lead.

German players or league? If its the latter, their last one was Lukas Podolski from Cologne in 12/13.

The earlier ones were Per Mertesacker (Werder Bremen) in 11/12, Aleksandr Hleb (Stuttgart) and Tomas Rosicky (Dortmund) in 05/06.

Great. Another 'oooh Arsenal you're so wonderful' thread.
Pathetic.

Don't you get tired of this? You're becoming a fucking parasite to these threads because you're derailing every one with the same moaning shit.

Why don't you go and start a new thread about defensive midfielders, so you can let everyone know how much you hate Rodgers, the owners, the players and Arsenal *again*.

Over the years the their return on investment has been far better then ours. Its that astuteness we need develop. Last season we bought too many (players) at too a high a price, and consequently like Tottenham paid the price and finishing lowly. It's not the best players that win things but the best team.

Quite, no one is saying we should aspire to be Arsenal, but as far as spending well goes, we could definitely take a leaf or two from their book. I don't see how that's such a wild, unambitious point. I can't stand Arsenal or Wenger either, but you know, it's a fair point that doesn't need to be ridiculed.

Yeah, and we were probably buying German players or players directly from the German league before them too, if we stretch the timeline further back.

Riedle, Babbel, Ziege (Boro), Hamann (Newcastle), Berger (Dortmund), Voronin (Leverkusen... okay, shit happens), Degen (Dortmund... okay, shit repeats), Dundee (okay... we better stop here).

Shows it's possible to buy shit from the Bundesliga too. 😉

If there's shit players in the German League, rest assured our scouts will find them so that our negotiation team can over-pay for them.

To be fair though Mark, if you want a like then just diss Arsenal. Automatic like from Silversean, just like saying Bony is Boss and Cloggy will add a like to your post.

What's worse, getting oh so close two years ago to winning the league only to fall away again or be like Arsenal, never really in the hunt come the closing stages but always playing attractive football and never really being seen to be in a crisis?

I think I still prefer our predicament

'Which kind of runner-up would you prefer to be' is essentially your question.
