If he signed for 'them' he would have had a a long a succesful career. According to wiki, he wanted to sign for us but we weren't interested.

On a personal note, I saw Gazza play for Newcastle (think it was 1986?) against BlueNoses and he was absolutely jaw-dropping. Was over for Easter to see us playing on the Easter Monday, they went top Saturday and we went back top on the Monday if I remember correctly. Can anyone confirm this - getting old??

Its very easy to be harsh on Gazza. He has done some awful things to people, but I can't help having sympathy for him. Its not like his actions have done him any good, he has been a complete mess. But at least he is having a go at sorting things out, unlike Best who didn't seem to give a shit about the chances he was given.
