Liverpool, of course, hasn't had injuries to key players to worry about, eh?

I just think City is rattled and can't shake Liverpool out of its collective heads. A bit like us a few weeks ago with a seemingly insurmountable goal difference and just managing to be within grasp of City's coat-tails ...

I know the focus is on City but Spurs is creeping up on the back straight and won't just go away. This is going to be one hell of a tight race.

Don't make the mistake I made of checking spurs next 6 or 7 league fixtures. They're not gonna be easy to keep at bay.

Nothing like Cities injuries no

Spurs maybe creeping behind but they have a thin squad and limited options in midfield to cover for any of their main boys if they should get an injury. Think poch gave a rest to one of his defenders a few games ago and ended up losing. Also I think they could have a slip up against lower opposition when you least expect them. Would not read too much into the Everton result as they tend to lose pathetically whenever it means winning for them would put us at an advantage with the only exception being if they need to avoid relegation.

Doesn't go in this thread, don't care.

Went out last night to see Cast, stayed behind in the lobby with loads of others all singing Liverpool songs for about half an hour until security kicked us out!

Goes into town & again there's groups singing & chanting everywhere you go. Amazing atmosphere. You wouldn't know there were any blues in this city based on last night!

Go to teach a load of lads the VVD 'dirty old town' song as well, boss.

Spurs have no chance. None

Fucking hell. I'm throwing a tenner on them now.

Christmas 2008, we were top of the league, finished second.

Christmas 2013, we were top of the league, finished second.

Christmas 2018, top of the league... Every five years we do this. We're not winning it. And now, thanks to Pat Cashout, we know who is. Spurs. I'm quitting football.

We're going to go collectively bonkers this season, aren't we? Witch-hunts, warlocks, jinxes and counter-jinxes, people getting shouted at for being supposedly too negative or too positive or just saying something in the wrong moment. And what's visible online is only the tip of the insanity iceberg – I'll admit now that for the past few weeks I've thought through everything I wear on the game day for its anti-jinx properties, down to the colour of the underwear – that's right, no detail is too small for victory (and we've been winning, so I'll have to keep doing this crap). And this it just December... come May we might actually graduate to brewing magic potions and human sacrifice.

I'm already calling all the Jews I know, and I'm related to, who control the banks, media etc to try and put extra pressure to destroy our rivals.

Good. We just need to get the lizard people on our side and we'll be laughing.

Woland is going to have to stop abusing them.

My was born in June and hasn't witnessed a league defeat, perhaps she's the chosen one? She has a birth mark like a comet on her forehead, it's a sign!

Comets are always a sign of doom though.

Looks like Son misses a bunch of games in Jan due to Asian football duties with S Korea. Hopefully this is where Spurs fall away.

We always think this - like when Kane got injured. They tend to keep going.

There’s going to be no let up this season from either City or Spurs.

Agreed, it’s the hope that kills us. One disappears and another (Eriksen, Alli, other) steps right up

Spurs are a good side and I would fear them more if I knew they could take points off City. Do City fans fear them?

Piffle. Our defence in particular has been hit by them to a far greater extent. The reason we haven't suffered for it can be summed up in three words: Virgil van Dijk.

Exactly we haven’t lost our best defender who is our best player this year

They’ve lost KDB, David Silva, Aguero and Kompwny.

Fuck city but no way we’d have coped with losing VVD, Salah, Milner, Mane

Nah, not buying that. By their standards Mo and Mane were off the pace until recently (IMO Mane still is to an extent) and Milner has missed games because of the need to keep him fit for the biggest ones, while Kompany has hardly figured for City for some time. I'm not saying they haven't missed players, but I stand by the view that they haven't by any stretch been affected far worse than we have.
