Chelsea are advertising for spare tickets in the Evening Standard in London. Highly amusing to see. Looks like those who jumped on board with Abramovic are jumping off just as quickly after a few bad results.

Different reason behind it but City haven't sold their allocation for the Arsenal match at the weekend either because of the price £62 a ticket.

Not a lot of change from £200 for that away trip.

The issue of prices resurfaced after Manchester City returned 912 unsold tickets to Arsenal, priced at £62, for this weekend’s match between the clubs at the Emirates.
The Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) has called on top-flight clubs to pass on the benefit of next season’s bumper new TV deal to fans by reducing ticket prices.
The FSF claims it is unfair that clubs such as Arsenal should charge away fans from the top clubs one figure, and those from less high-profile clubs half as much - Stoke fans will only have to pay £35.50.
Other fans’ groups have called for a cap of £20-£25 for away fans’ tickets.

I think I'd need to be paid to go and watch Spurs let alone the other way round....

I think it's only a matter of time before the FA put a cap on ticket prices. At least for the non-vip seats (ie majority of seats).
Way more important than salary caps.

Chelsea have been advertising unsold tickets for years on local radio and within the Evening Standard. Their ticket prices have been absurd for years and now most other London clubs are catching up (see Arsenal).

I much preferred going to Stamford Bridge when it was an open terrace with a running track and the neanderthals were trying to get you. At least there was an atmosphere and there was no pretence that that they were posh cunts club.

Oh and so have Arsenal since they moved grounds.

Just so we're clear, bailing the sinking ship means they are taking water from the bilges and throwing it overboard. Do you mean they are bailing out of the club?

Not sure its up to the FA to specify how much they charge? Its basic supply and demand, if they are still selling the majority of tickets and save money from stewards by having a less aggro crowd then so be it. Obviously not good for atmosphere or for the typical working class football fan but the World is changing..

Happy for Single to put a supply & demand graph in right about now.. Maybe some price elasticity of demand stuff..
