Fabinho leaving?

Fabinho has been left out of Liverpool's squad for a training camp for Germany following a £40m bid for the midfielder from a Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.

Per the beeb.

Exactly. Lavia as backup to an experienced dm, whilst refining and improving their game is fine. Our only DM option? Fucking awful
 
Buying gravenberch seems the best.option of the names provided, but Bayern won't sell reasonably. Meaning do we go for amrabat who's available, and try and get lavia as well?
 
United are heavily linked, so hopefully we can pip them to another

Honestly, I rated Gravenberch until I saw him play for the u21s. There's a reason why he was dropped by Van Gaal for the world cup and why Bayern don't want him.
He's not the same player he was at Ajax and we shouldn't be blinded by the fact that he's young.

Also, I think klopp can motivate with the best of them. Tuchel and van gaal I don't know if they are any more

I'm not sold on Amrabat at all. Had a decent world cup but every time I've seen him for Fiorentina which admittedly is a handful he's been meh.
 
I worry were either going to 1)massively overpay for someone 2) get no one

I don't think anyone will be overly happy come season start

Possibly for the home grown quota?

We do have to get some English first teamers in our squad. I assume his wages are way too high for us anyway so he’s a non starter (pun intended)
 
40M for our starting DM who’s won everything at the club and is 29 not 33 seems very low imo.

I’m not excited by this at all.
 
Both Reedy and Pearce with the same list of players to replace Fabs so they have obviously been briefed by the club.
None of the players come close to peak Fabinho which is what we need.
I hope we are actually looking around for some one better and not someone cheap.
I assume we are not interested in Caicedo because of his price tag.

Seems Caicedo has told us he's off to Chelsea.

Will probably be a fee + colwill.

It's not an inspiring list. Amrabat and Phillips shouldn't even be in contention.

Lavia is an excellent talent, but simply too young to replace Fabinho.

Gravenberch is the best player of that lot, but I'm not convinced he's a no. 6. Certainly not in a single pivot, but maybe he could play in a double pivot. I wouldn't hate it, but practically the only players I want to replace Fabinho are Tchouameni, Caicedo or Florentino Luis. I don't think there's anyone else presently around who I'd be comfortable with if we are serious about winning trophies soon.

Tbf, Reddy and Pearce don't get any scoops any more. Unless it's a very public pursuit, most of the journos aren't really clued in.

We were told for the most of June that Thuram was our target, and Szoboszlai suddenly arrived out of nowhere.

I don’t see how you can’t equate Florentino Luis and Lavia - both have just one good season under their belt.
