KOP TARGET: Liverpool are preparing a £18m bid for PSG midfielder Ezequiel Lavezzi [GETTY]
According to reports, the Reds are plotting an £18m bid for the 29-year-old.
The Independent claim that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign the former Napoli star this summer, and has identified him as an alternative for Loic Remy, who failed a medical ahead of his £8.5m move to Anfield.
Reports in France suggest that the Ligue 1 champions are willing to sell Lavezzi, who joined the Parisian club in 2012, in order to fund their move for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.
COMPETITION: Chelsea are also interested in signing Lavezzi [GETTY]
The club are preparing a £63m move for the want-away winger, but need to raise funds in order to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.
If Liverpool do make a move for Lavezzi, they could face competition from a Premier League rival.
Reports in France claim that Chelsea are also interested in signing the coveted winger.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the Argentina winger, and has been chasing him for the last three years.
But both clubs face an uphill task to sign the forward, as he has revealed that he would prefer a move to Italian giants Juventus this summer.
