I'm fine with th fact Everton haven't been booked yet, I won't be when our first player to commit a foul gets a yellow straight up though.

Great tackle by Mane. He loves being the main man, as well as being supporting cast. It's hard not to love him.

Ings, pass the ball to someone within a few yards, and jogs around. Is he not responsible for trying to score/create?

I haven't read the whole thread, but are there still people who rate Solanke? Utter shite. Couldn't trap a bag of cement.

I was quite impressed whenever I saw him play for Burnley. Which wasn't often, but anyway. He was very hardworking and ran all across the front line and in behind, and also scored a few.

I had similar thoughts when I first saw Vardy, but there's really no comparison based on this game so far. Dreadful

He seems to be coming deep. Very deep.

Unreasonable expectations in this match thread. Playing the Blue Shite away in crap conditions with a severely weakened side, and we are still looking more likely than Everton to win it.

Loath though I am to admit it, Graham Poll used to ref these games more sensibly, in the sense that he reffed from the first whistle rather than waiting for the second half to start dishing out cards all over the place. I think that's why many of derbies under Rafa were quite calm affairs. Yes, there's a risk of a first half sending off, but at least it stops Everton from making the game into a Hobbesian battleground.

I wouldn't mind a draw here and no players injured, so we should slow it down and be patient.

He has to do better. He is a senior player, regardless of past injuries. You can sort of forgive Solanke for being naive and getting out-muscled but at least he is trying to do something. Ings take the safe approach, jogs around aimlessly and takes bad first touches. One touch to stop the ball, and the 2nd touch is a tackle.

We need a better forward next season.

Everton are at home in a Merseyside derby and they are sitting deep .... I don't think Klopp or anyone else was prepared for that ..hence Ings siting off the centre backs.
