Everton (A)

Just read loads online that he was good. Seeing as Hendo is out and Can is out. I think this was at least encouraging.

He was alright, and I'm hardly his biggest fan. Seen him play far worse, and he did try and get the ball forward at times

He was "alright" against one of the most abject midfields in the league.

Henderson had a good game, milner had a fantastic game.

I was really afraid the super fast Walcott would destroy the ageing center half klavan who was playing left back .klavan proved me wrong he just calmly went about his work while keeping Walcott in his back pocket .

That was such a strange game. I couldn’t believe the lack of ambition Everton showed. We put out a patched up side basically hoping to avoid injuries and they just sat back. Felt like a training match til the last 10mins.

Unhappy weekend. Drew with Everton and Scums won. Anytime scums win is a bad weekend when we do not win.

I caught a bit of post match radio chatter, the discussion was about whether Rooney's legs had gone. One of the hosts suggested that had been the case in his last season at united too.

I've been of the opinion he has been pretty shit for years but it looks like he might actually be done as a forward.

What discussion is there to have? It's been obvious for a while now.

He's the sort of player who should be playing some bit part role for a team, super sub sort of thing.

Even Rooney has admitted as much. Which is why he's spent the last few years telling everyone he's now a midfielder. He lost his pace ages ago

He was ultra fast in his early 20s. It didn't seem to make sense when you saw his build. It was like watching a Rhino outrun cheetahs.

Sure he's in the top 10 recorded speeds in the league

Obviously years back like

Glock has ruined any discussion about pace forever.

Rooney had some pace but never thought of him being very fast like an Eto’o for example.

One thing about Rooney I find odd is that refs protect him still as if he's a manc ... he should have been yellow carded and refs just go easy on him as if it's Ferguson on the sideline snarling.

If you captain England even once you can swear at refs all game with impunity. See Jordan Henderson for latest example.

‘It’s sunny outside, Fabio! Beautiful day!’

‘Yeah. Skin cancer’s great isn’t it?’

You say this in jest, but my ex was round my Mum's one time, and she was in one of her usual dark moods.

Trying to put a positive spin on things and be all bright and cheerful she goes "Well, at least it's a nice sunny day!" to which my Mum goes "I know...it's terrible, isn't it? It really shows up the dust..."

I shit you not

I'm still pissed off that we even drew with the Bitters. Look at the state of that team. Yeah, we played the hapless Ings and even worse Solanke, but fucking hell: a midfield containing a superannuated Rooney, the much-maligned Schneiderlin and the dreadful Tom Davies.

And a striker who has all the mobility and pace of a Portaloo.

We should have had more than enough to beat that shower of cunts.

We were clearly playing massively within ourselves though. It looked like an exercise in self preservation. We played with little of our usual intensity. If we feel the benefit of that tomorrow I'm fine with that.

Yeah, there was no real ambition form either side at all until the last fifteen minutes, at which point the bitters having played together as a side more than once or twice & not having a CB exceptionally unsuited to being a full back, started to show on the pitch.
