European teams tidbits

Personally I think Ancellotti is hugely under rated and probably doesn't get mentioned in the same breath as Klopp or Guardiola, although he deserves to, because as you say, he doesn't have an ingrained style of football that he insists on playing.
I reckon that he would also be a very successful national manager because of this, more so than the other two, and if he were to replace Southgate as England boss,
I would immediately have them as favourites for the next tournament they are in

apparently the FAI turned him down last week

Tell that to Bayern!

Yeah, I don't know what happened there. It looked like he was done at the top level after that failure, but perhaps it helped him reinvent himself a bit. FC Hollywood is never easy to manage; they hardly respect anyone.

Carlo went to Everton to prove 1 point......that not even the best out there in the game can help a club as helpless as Everton.

Long rumoured to go to Brazil. Hence why they still have interim coach I think in waiting

Ya I thought the player comments were damning and would see him out in the cold.

Wtf is with this Girona team.

The young Ukrainian striker just scored vs Barca! We have a pretty decent crop of talents playing abroad - Zinchenko, Mykolenko, Dovbyk and Tsygankov at Girona, Zabarnyi from Bournemouth, goalkeeper Trubin at Benfica, Lunin at Real Madrid, Yaremchuk at Valencia, Mudryk obviously… Best Ukrainian players used to stay at Dynamo and Shakhtar in their prime years, but now for obvious reasons a lot of them are playing abroad.

Could be a good thing for the national team to be exposed to new tactical ideas and styles of play - certainly someone like Zinchenko would not be the same player had he stayed.

Zabarnyi was really impressive against Utd

Girona’s LB/LWB Miguel Gutierrez looks a special talent. If we’re looking for a long-term Robbo replacement, he should be very high on the list.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has signed a new deal with the club which will run until June 2026.
The Italian, 64, was appointed at the Bernabeu for a second time in 2021 on an initial three-year deal.

Xabi might have to choose between us and Real in 2026

Real wins. There's every chance Klopp signs a two year extension. His wife likes it in Liverpool. As head of the Liverpool charity, she has got a well paying job which she gets a huge amount of satisfaction from.
He gets £15m a year plus bonuses which probably takes it to £25-30m. Rent free accommodation, a fanbase that adores him.
The Germany job has lots of challenges, and he knows they'll be less patient.

Bonuses go that high? Wow.

I mean where does he go next? Spain and Italy won't work for him, as he is all about communication and inspiration. He doesn't have the language to manage that. Germany job will be it really. Unless he fancies the Dutch league. Or the MLS? or the Bayern job,

So yes, an extension to 2027 would be amazing.

As for Alonso, he may feel the Real job is too soon? Or maybe not. Nice to have that connection and possibility post Jurgen though.

When asked about his salary, his reply was "wow". I am only guessing, if you break down the basic of our players it equates to less than half of what goes out on salaries that's published on yearly accounts.

Nothing would make my heart glow more, than another trophyless season for sir Harry.

Bloody hell - Rangers yesterday vs Ross Co. 43 shots with 23 shots on target - only 3 goals as the keeper made a SPL record 19 saves. Rangers now level with Celtic on points, GD and games played.
