and Gerrard wanted a move to Chelsea. Both of them changed their mind.
Gerrard didn't bite 2 players trying to force a move.
And Suarez didn't change his mind either.
He'd have definitely gone to Arsenal if we accepted a bid.

That's why Ted Bundy fascinates so many people.

Ted Bundy wasn't a cannibal afaik.

Anyway, Suarez bit people because when he sees red out of frustration, he goes mental. He owes no particular allegiance to our club, but if you can get beyond that significant character flaw, and the games off that it costs, when playing I've never seen anyone better in terms of work rate or attitude. It's insane to see that combination of attitude and real quality. There's a reason why people like Suarez and don't like Torres, and it's that we can accept hard working mercenaries.

Oh yeah I love watching him play and his street fighting type of football is amazing and refreshing but I'm not celebrating or getting particularly reminiscent when he scores a goal for another team.

We're becoming like that bloke that checks when his ex was last seen on whats app.
It's becoming tragic.

If you fucked a supermodel, I don't think anyone would begrudge you the occasional wistful wank. Obviously there's a limit.
Well yeah if the supermodel was replaced then we wouldn't be wanking so much.
So that's where the problem probably stems.

Nice bit about checking last seen status on whats app, but why stop there? This particular ex is all over you tube and vine 🙂

Soon we will playing for 3 Champions League places...

Premier League, Best league in the world? .. It's certainly opened that up for debate...

[article=http://www.espnfc.com/uefa-champions-league/story/2617221/could-the-premier-league-lose-a-champions-league-place]The Premier League currently has four Champions League places, but that is coming under threat from Serie A.

A bad season for English clubs in Europe alone will not make a difference -- Italian clubs would also have to do well. No other league can overtake the Premier League, while the Bundesliga is also not immune from the threat.

Three leagues get four Champions League berths, and La Liga is way out in front and in no danger of losing a place.

Last season, Italy gained 5.42 coefficient points on the Premier League -- this still left it 9.881 points behind England (and 8.905 points behind Germany).

At the start of this season the points gained in 2010-11 were removed from the five-year calculation -- only Portugal scored more points than England in this season. That automatically saw Italy, who had a bad season in Europe, claw back 6.786 points on England and 4.095 points on Germany.

So, going into 2015-16 the points were as follows:

Germany - 63.749
England - 62.034
--------------------------
Italy - 58.939

As such, both England and Germany are under threat from an excellent season for Italian clubs.

As of Sept. 29, the points scored in 2015-16 are:

Germany - 4.225
England - 3.625
--------------------------
Italy - 2.666

Which leaves the total points standings as:

Germany - 68.463
England - 65.659
--------------------------
Italy - 61.605

We won't get to see a clearer picture of what could happen until the end of the group stages in the two competitions -- but, at present, Germany and England will keep four Champions League places and hold a healthy advantage over Italy.

However, Italy will gain 3.893 points on England at the start of 2016-17 -- and it could be all change at the end of that season.

Teams left in Europe to score points:

Germany - 7 (no eliminations)
England - 6 (originally 8, Southampton and West Ham eliminated)
Italy - 5 (originally 6, Sampdoria eliminated)

Teams score two points for a win, and that is divided by the total number of teams a league has in European competition. This means each win (in the Champions League or the Europa League) is worth:

Germany - 0.29 coefficient points
England - 0.25 coefficient points
Italy - 0.33 coefficient points

Any change at the end of this season would affect league positions in 2016-17, and Champions League competition in 2017-18.[/article]

Would people be celebrating him winning trophies if he moved to Arsenal.
Which he wanted to do too.

Stupid comparison ... he made us a dominant team ... and created a different atmosphere here, which obviously departed with him ... Why not appreciate one of the greatest players to ever wear our shirt?

From a BBC article:

It is no longer quite so easy for the bigger clubs to put the squeeze on their so-called lesser Premier League rivals to sell, while those clubs are now in a position to make ambitious moves of their own.

As an example, Stoke City paid a club record £12m to sign Inter Milan's Switzerland World Cup star Xherdan Shaqiri, while West Brom swept aside Tottenham's £22m offer for Saido Berahino.

The landscape is shifting. The Premier League may not be the best league in the world but it is arguably the most competitive - and this may take its toll when it comes to Champions League time.

The stats back up the argument. Chelsea were champions last season but only won four league games by three or more goals. Barcelona won 15 games by at least three goals as they won La Liga and Bayern Munich did so 11 times winning the Bundesliga.

Does that stat back up that argument? Chelsea will always be the kind of team that is less likely to win by a lot of goals, that's down to their style of play.

I think the overall point is probably correct though, but I imagine at the end of the season, we'll still have the same teams at the top. I can't see any team breaking into that for a sustained period without getting a billionaire owner.

There might be some truth to the Chelsea 'style of play' as a reason for not winning as many matches by 3 or more goals, but I do think it has more to do with the overall strength and competitiveness of the clubs in the PL.

I stated a while ago, in another thread, that I thought this season was going to be much tighter with the 'Top' teams dropping more points than would otherwise expected with virtually any other PL club capable of turning them over on any given day. Money is a great leveller.

However the BBC article also mentioned the lack of world-class players in the PL teams competing in the CL as an excuse for under-performing. I'm not sure that is true (though of course compared to Real & Barca they have less, not sure that is true for Bayern though) as Chelsea and City at least have players out of the top drawer. I'd agree that Arsenal, and to a degree United, don't have fear inducing players any more though.

He's gone and he done everything in his power to leave so why should I appreciate him scoring goals for another team.
I'll save my appreciation for the likes of Dalglish.
A man that cares about the club.

Well, he wanted to win trophies and he realized that wasn't to be with us. As I said, he always gave us everything he had. We could see how crucial he was for us.
I was disappointed when he left, but I find it hard not to be happy for him when he wins.
When did he realise that? Last day of the season when we were pipped to the title?
He could have won trophies here Jimmy. Modern players dont want to build up, they just want to move and pick up the glory. Fucking Shola Ameobi could have moved to Barcelona and they still would have won trophies.

Ok .. well, you can do that. I'll appreciate both (one more than the other - but that's obvious). No harm, no foul.

From Brendan's Europa pressser:

"Our approach to this game will be how it's been in the competition so far. It's an opportunity for players on the fringes."

The performance level had been building towards that (v Villa). Our creativity was excellent. Focus and intensity from 1st whistle.

The combination between Sturridge and Ings was very good, They were a real threat. We could have had more goals.

"It's a game where we're going to need to be patient. Sion sit deep and then play a counter attacking game."

There was a wee bit of anxiety around Villa game but players responding very well and starting to show they can play together.

Sturridge won't be involved in the game. We'll keep him fresh for the weekend. He's still building his way towards fitrness.

Rossiter will play.

The focus on Divock is goals and games. It takes time to adapt. For us it's about nurturing talent along.
He's a humble guy, he knows he's here to develop. It's a big step.

Nail on head. Modern players just want to high tail it to Barca, Real, Bayern, and maybe the likes of City and Chelsea for instant glory and money. Sterling was fucking 20 is all going to City. I don't blame them and I'm not syaing I'd do anything differently in their position it's just how it is. I'm sure Suarez thinks Liverpool are alright and hopes we do well, but that's it with his affinity to us. He won't be back. If Suarez had stayed here and eventually won us our first league in 20 something years it would have been a way bigger achievement than winning 8 trophies with Barca. Players don't think that way though....Apart from Oncy's favourite.

Turned it on and they got a jammy pelanty.

I'm going back to killing orcs. I'm going to call them Wayne, Bastian and Phil.
