Neto almost makes it 1-0 after a poor mistake by the bluenose Garner.....good stop by Trafford.

Good defending by Jones as he comes 1v1 against Neto on the right, shepherds the ball out of play after Neto overdoes it & then the 2 embrace.

Lovely worked goal by England that.....Madueke to MGW who pulls it back to that rat Gordon who takes the finish well tbh.

That should be that.

Congrats to the young lions.

France 1-0

The pace of Barcola there was unreal, composure from Cherkhi inside the box was world class.....great first touch and nice little finish.

Mudryk starting for Ukraine here.

Thuram also involved.

Silly dangle of the leg by Kalulu, trips Mudryk in the box.....pen given, well taken by Sudakov. 1-1.

Ukraine 2-1 up now, great ball by Mudryk....French defence caught napping. Heorhiy Sudakov is another 1 to look out for.

Mudryk is a baller.

This guy is also a baller, in a different way. The way he keeps the ball and orchestrates short-passing game is perfect for our LCM role and complements Trent very well. He’s done nothing to warrant being dropped from his starting position in midfield that he won last season, even taking all the new sexy signings into account.

He’ll get himself injured and make it an easy decision to start Mac Al.

I see Slobberchops starting on the bench though and Hendo getting a run out first.

Jones did grow on me back end of last season, his ball retention is noticeably very good and he works hard to create space for others and perhaps doesn't deserve to be dropped but there's a reason we have a squad.....to fill in when needed in case of injuries. He took his chances well which should see him get more game time but not so sure about being a regular.

U21s is back today with the semi's for anyone interested.

Oscar Gloukh v Curtis Jones in the battle of the #10s (or deeper lying in Jones' role in this set up) @LeTallecWiz *inserts lookout emoji"

England should win, and win convincingly ... Don't think the manager is smart enough to take advantage of the lessons his team learned when England humbled them in the group stage.

Terrible header then by Colwill, nah don't want him. Ignacio it is!!!

Where's my boy Gloukh at.

Well overhit ball straight out of play there by Colwill, Nah nah nah. 10m player!!!

ESR misses 2 sitters before ref points to the spot for England. First one cleared off the line, 2nd saved onto the post.

Think Gordon dives there. No surprise. Gordon clearly sticks his leg into the defender and buys the pen.

Shocking miss by MGW.

Justice done.

Hope the Israeli's win now, and Gloukh scores the winning goal so we can hurry up and sign him for 2m before we turn him into a 70m player.

Harvey Elliott has re-joined back with the team btw and is on the bench today.

This England team is just too good. Like 6-7 of the 11 on the pitch have real PL experience.

Also, why didn't we buy James Garner when Man U got rid?
Birkenhead boy, Liverpool fan, very talented and versatile kid.

I agree - but issue, for me, is a shit manager with Israel who can't give them a chance to really compete (outside their abilities)

Nah I don't think so, they've not really played anyone that'll give them a game other than Portugal who they narrowly beat.....Czech Republic Israel and a 2nd string Germany side.

They hold the ball in mostly safe areas with no pressure, they don't really look to go for the kill and beat teams well.

Before the first game of the u21 euro's they lost 3 out of their 4 games......to Slovenia, Croatia and Japan.

These kids beat France 4-0 before the tournament. They'll get another chance in the final.

If you're so good, you win those games.

For some managers they'd rather get beat by 1-0 instead of going for a win.
It's the same with Swedens current manager

Speaking of Sweden, where were they during this tournament and is there any young studs we could sign tomorrow?

ESR to Palmer. 2-0. Nice goal.

Flagged for offside on ESR but I think he could be onside.

Lovely ball there by Gloukh to set up Israel's first real chance on goal.

Not been too impressed with Colwill if I'm honest, had a few iffy moments including the yellow card for a blatant tug back when the player was almost clean through.

Gloukh has come alive late on here, he gives me Coutinho vibes.
