Jose Enrique confident he will settle at Liverpool

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says the Reds fans can expect more from him once he settles in at the club.

The 25-year-old moved to Anfield from Newcastle just 24 hours before the 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Saturday.

"I know I'm not 100% because I have to train more with the team," Enrique told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"In the next few games if I continue to play it will be really easy to understand the players here. I have to get to know them more."

He added: "But I think it's fitness and that is normal, we've only played the first game and we need to get more fit. We have to think about the next game, as that is really important too."

Liverpool travel to Arsenal on Saturday looking for their first win of the season, and are without an away win against the Gunners since February 2000, with former striker Titi Camera scoring the winning goal.

But after completing his Anfield debut at the weekend, Enrique thanked the fans for the reception he had against the Black Cats.

"The atmosphere is amazing, but I played in Newcastle and they have really good fans too," the Spaniard continued.

"But I'm here and I'm accustomed to playing with fans like that. The fans here are very good."

Not sure that he's logged on at the moment, or even a member of this forum.

Plus, they're not.

They're deluded but they fucking love their team and sing for them proudly

I'm just thankful you're not used as the example of a typical Liverpool fan

As for Enrique. I think he's going to be an excellent purchase. Quick, strong, looks intelligent and had a very decent debut considering he'd hardly even trained with the rest of the team - if at all.

I was very impressed with his passing ability. He seemed to pick a pass continually through a crowd

Aparently hes been criticising Newcastle is some daily rag. Would much prefer if you didnt do that Jose. In can come back to bite you on the arse.
