why are you picking on Lallana, I've seen about 20 players wearing those odd boots

Good point. I infer that Lallana went to Brazil with his look/image in the back of his mind or else he'd wear normal boots. When you do that you better be good enough to back it up, and Lallana wasn't

Dont be silly lad. Lallana was fine.

I disagree, he played it safe in both games which is incredible as they were behind both times he came on. Again I infer that he had his image in mind and didn't want to make a mistake which would tarnish it.

Pathetic. Back to your blackboard.

The whole team was more or less set that way though, Henderson and Gerrard were the same, as was Baines, there were few who genuinely expressed themselves as we know they can. I doubt it's a coincidence.

Indeed, I didn't mean Lallana was worse than any other player, I just picked on him because of his boots. They were all bad aside from Sterling.

Sketchy performance but I still think we could qualify.
Every team in the group has been poor and italy could easily win both their games.
Id probs rather see us out and Roy fucked off though.

Roy doesn't agree. He thinks they're already out in his post match interview, and the lady didn't even correct him because she obviously derived some sort of pleasure in seeing him broken and defeated.

So who does everyone one want as the new England manager?
Arry's boat has sailed surely?

Id like to see a young hungry coach.
A former England player.

There arent any outstanding candidates though.
Neville is probably about the best shout. Completed his badges, worked under Fergie, Sven, Capello, Venables, Hoddle etc so should have a decent understanding.
I really cant think of another.
Shearer would be good but I dont think hed be interested.

Sean Dyche has done brilliantly at Watford and Burnley but he just doesn't seem a good fit for some reason.
It's got to be Neville surely.

Rodgers or Martinez would be ideal to build something, not going to happen though, obviously wouldn't want Rodgers to happen either.

Hes different to those 2 but out of realistic targets that could be persuaded then Benitez would be very high on the list, it was a big opportunity missed not to let him have a shot at the 2012 Euro's with England imo.

Hes a knock out football specialist, a top tactician and actually knows what hes doing, at least the team would be organised and everyone would know exactly what their jobs are with and without the ball, England would certainly have more of a chance of doing something of note with him in charge than the current buffoon.

It's pretty rare for a young club manager to take an international job so don't think Rodgers or Martinez would be viable options.
As depressing as it sounds for England fans I think the shortlist would be something like Neville,Pearce,Curbishley,Dyche,Adkins.

Not trying to rub it in, but that was a predictably pitiful night for England. As for Suarez, the man is just ridiculous.

Despite the doom and gloom, it's hardly beyond the realms of possibility that Italy beat both Costa Rica and Uruguay, and England do the business against Costa Rica? Then it's down to Goal Difference?
I know it's a tall order, but by no means out of the question.

That list is depressing to say the least, with Benitez at least he knows the English game well, Capello and Sven didn't have any real experience of it when coming in.

Doesn't matter anyway though does it? Hodgson has his arse firmly jammed into the job, hope he goes but dont think he will, honestly can't believe the amount of people backing him and even saying hes doing well.

Can't really see Hodgson geeing them up myself

Then again, he is not a quitter!

World Cup 2014: England boss Roy Hodgson 'not resigning'

England manager Roy Hodgson insists he will not resign, despite his side being on the brink of elimination from the World Cup at the group stage.
Luis Suarez's double for Uruguay condemned England to their second successive defeat in Group D and anything other than an Italy win when the Azzurri face Costa Rica on Friday will mean an early exit.

Hodgson says England have not let anyone down
"I don't have any intention to resign," he said. "I've been really happy with the way the players have responded to the work we've tried to do."
Hodgson took over shortly before Euro 2012, where England were eliminated on penalties by Italy in the quarter-finals, while they qualified unbeaten for this World Cup in Brazil.
"I'm bitterly disappointed, of course, but I don't feel I need to resign, no," he added.
"On the other hand, if the FA think I'm not the right man to do the job, that will be their decision not mine."

"Before the game too many people in England laughed about my attitude over the last few years.
"This is a very good time for me. I want to see what they think now."

haha ..he loves making friends .

Amid his job, Suarez had some sympathy for Gerrard.
"I told him to keep going," he said of his Liverpool team-mate. "He's the best player I've played with.
"This is an unlucky moment for him. I don't like it when he hurts like this. I said, 'Keep going, forget this game, you're one of the best'."

Uruguay are men sweating buckets and fighting for their fans. Then Lallana comes on with one green and one pink boot... It's why England don't win games because their heads are elsewhere. And fuck Lallana he is worth £15m tops, hopefully the World Cup brings some perspective to our transfer policy
Literally every team in the tournament has players wearing the different colored boots.
