Reina - 7 Solid enough especially as the defence improved post Roy.
Aurelio - 4 Just no point.
Konchesky - 4 Poor
Carragher - 7 Again fairly solid all season
Agger - 5 Wasted potential. We should cash in.
Skrtel - 7 The pick of our defenders over the season
Johnson - 7 Improved after a poor start
Flannagan - 7 Very impressive so far
Kelly - 7 Would have been 8 if he played more
Lucas - 7 Improved as the season wore on
Wilson - 4 Rubbish so far but apparantly out of position
Spearing - 6 Very good couple of months
Poulsen - 3 Shite...and slow.....and old
Meireles - 8 Player of the season
Cole - 4 Pointless
Maxi - 6 Was 5 untill about a month ago
Shelvey - 5 Just ok
Gerrard - 6 Average for him and mostly absent
Torres - 6 Scored a few but mostly average
N'gog - 6 As above
Suarez - 8 Brilliant cameo
Kuyt - 8 Deadly season
Carroll - 5 Average
Jovanovic - 5 Okish when ive seen him

Probably missed someone out but thats my thoughts.

Mostly agree there Herr. When you see the squad listed like that it becomes very clear we're carrying some amount of shit.

Bit harsh on Aurelio, though I agree there is "no point" due to injuries. Those brief moments when he is fit he is our best left back. But yeah, as much as it pains me to say it, sell. His career is over.
*sob*

There's no way Eggnog should be given a higher rating than Agger.
[/quote]

Depends how you look at it.

N'gog isn't great but when he has played this season he has done better than expected. Still not amazing granted but to be fair we expect next to nothing from him!

Agger on the other hand should be a great player, but he hasn't been.

I think we should sell both of them to be honest. Agger because, although he has the ability I don't think we will ever see the best of it, and N'gog because I think we probably have seen the best of him and its not enough.

For a team that's gonna finish 6th, and was rolled out of every cup competition early doors, thems some generous ratings Oncyman.

Apart from the games early on when he was used as a left back, I can't recall a single game where Agger didn't perform.
The one thing I get tired of on this site is people talking about how Agger is not only injury prone (which he is, obv) but is not quite good enough when he plays and that we can get better. Yet when he does get a run of games people always talk about how great the team plays due to his involvements in the buildup of our attacks, not to mention his composed defending. But then he gets injured again and he's not good enough.
I'm a fan of his but I'm fine in conceding that his injury record is no good for us (though I still hope he can do a Kewell or a Litmananan, ie suddenly become injury free from a certain age) at the moment. But he's a great centre back and I can't stand people criticising his quality on the pitch whenever he's out injured, because he hardly ever has bad games in the middle and is incredibly reliable while on the pitch.

No problems with Agger on the pitch. The problem is he's not on the pitch enough over a season. We need a settled defense and Agger will never give us that. Time to cash in.

N'gog was one of the only ones scoring under roy (initially), so I have no problem with his rating

Dont agree re Carroll, but the rest is pretty spot on.

2 goals in 9 games (both in the same game too) sounds pretty average to me

Half of the games have been used to get back to match fitness though. I guess it depends on what kind of context you use, if it's purely stats then 5 is of course correct.

Twat as I think Torres is, and shite by his standards as he was for much of the time he played for us, but you just can't give N'gog the same rating Andrew.

regards

I believe Skrtel has mostly been a liability this Season. He's not good enough to play regularly at Liverpool FC. 5 at most. But only because he's been stable in terms of fitness.

The only way he should get a higher rating than Carra or Agger IMHO is if you only judge them by ammount of minutes on the pitch really. Agger's of no use when he's injured and same goes for Carra but both been better than Skrtel when fit.

Skrtel's the one we need cashing in on imo. Alongside the Greek. We need another good defender and we've already got Kelly to promote. I'd only sell Agger if the money was right as he's still a great player. We are not in a position where we should flog the great players we've got left, not even the injury-prone ones.

Oh... Jovanovic 5... Ok'ish....

What?

Where?

He's been even worse than Poulsen. Which tells a lot.

Re: Re: End of term reports.

Jovanovic at least scored a couple. Skrtel has been relatively solid for 5/6 months. He deserves his mark

Fair enough mate. I wouldn't give Skrtel more than 5 my self. And Jova 1.

Jova looked like a headless chicken at best, with nothing to offer apart from blistering pace.

Liverpool Track & Field would've got more use of him than we ever managed. One of the worst players in Liverpool in terms of footballing skills in a long while.

Whatever Skrtel gets, it should be at least 1 point higher than Agger. 😀

haha, come on mate, spider-neil is gone, we need someone to pick on 😉

I'd give Agger a higher rating for the way he came out so outspoken about the club after the Torres debacle, and the way he refused to play the Roy way. He's a loyal *footballer*. And then there was the, erm, tackle on you know who.

Carroll deserves a higher rating since he played so few games, and scored two nice ones in what five appearances?

Do you think, given a few games, Jova is as bad as we think he is? He was big in Belgium...

Otherwise, pretty solid ratings Oncy.

Skrtel has played every minute of every league game. With Agger we are happy when he hits a number of games with two digits in it.
Therefore:
Skrtel >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Agger in terms of value to this club.

The idea of Agger is beautiful, but football isnt played by ideas in some Platonic parallel universe.
While Skrtel is clearing balls and crushing bones, Agger is on his back in some tattoo/opium den.

Get rid.

Yes, but if I had to choose between him and Agger staying for another season it would be a very easy decision.

I don't get to see every game, but every game I have seen Skrtel, he's done well.

Why does he get a poor rap on these boards? Any Martin fans out there?
