What time does this start tonight? I hope its a Barca win, I would give my right bollock for Madrid to win fuck all this season.

9pm.

Really looking forward to this one but a little worried that Real might sneak it.

This is going to be a fantastic match. Poor Arbeloa might be given the duty to stop Messi..

Wouldnt be the first time, though.

hr certainly will, Messi and Barca in particular are a much improved since then, interesting that Madrid have elected to go with a right footed fullback given that Messi is an inside out winger and likes to cut inside at every oppurtunity, the problem he will have is that Alves will be bombing past on the overlap playing in the manner of an orthadox winger while Messi may just elect wander into the middle or wide to the right which makes him next tom impossible to mark as you would have to free a defender of any positional responsibilites to stay with him

The key to this game is Xavi, MAdrid are going with an attacking midfield which means Xavi will have the room to pull the strings, if hes in the mood he will shred the Madrid backline with his passing game

I expect Madrid to benefit from a highly dubious penalty decision at some point and Messi to be crowded out by and large but that will free up space for other players

Messi will probably play through the middle for large parts of the game, so their LB can occupy himself with keeping Pedro out of the game.

Halftime. Quite an even game. Ref seems quite whistle happy. 4 yellow cards and lots of soft freekicks being given.

That goal was all about Xavi's beautiful return ball for me - it was just effortless.

The game in general has been pretty scrappy and although Barcelona have enjoyed most of the possession, Real have showed enough threat to keep them worried. Real's fast direct style is well suited to countering Barca who have a habit of getting caught cold footed high up the pitch. Pique in particular has been taking a lot of risks by pressing high up the pitch leaving him chasing attackers (if he's lucky) when they lose the ball.

Haha, that must have been a pretty miserable 90mins for Real fans. Ultimately outclassed. Again. And to top it all off, Ronaldo was crap.

Very professional half from Barcelona there. Good decision to put Alves back at RB who marshalled Ronaldo pretty well and ensured they didn't get caught for pace out wide. Lovely stuff from Xavi again and Pedro's first touch and finish was world class. It's just a shame Messi couldn't finish his chances to really hit it home.

On Fox Sports I was treated to a Geordie summariser who said after the final whistle 'Tip your sombreros to Barcelona and their chandalier football'.

Fucking hell!

Anyone know who the Sid Waddel-alike was?

A few points:

Valdes had a really good game. He's the weakest link in the team, so when he's in form, they that much better.

Great goal by Pedro - another great player from their farm system. I think our 'youth system' should just try and poach kids from that system, it produces good to great players every bloody year. How many goals has he got this year? Almost 20?

Anyone else feel slightly happy that Xabi & Ebola both played average and were on the losing side? Funnily enough, out of the two, I think Ebola has a better chance to be on that team next year. Xabi just doesn't fit their current system (even more so when Kaka is healthy).

Xavi - best creative force in football. He's well ahead of Pirlo in that category now.

Ronaldo & Ramos ... Are there two bigger cunts on a team than these two?

Yesterday I had the mispleasure of hearing this Irish twat on ESPN that has been mentioned on here before. The "onion bag" chap.

Shaka Hislop was also on, and disagreed with everything he said. I forget his name, but will know it when someone says it.
