A few points:

Valdes had a really good game. He's the weakest link in the team, so when he's in form, they that much better.

Great goal by Pedro - another great player from their farm system. I think our 'youth system' should just try and poach kids from that system, it produces good to great players every bloody year. How many goals has he got this year? Almost 20?

Anyone else feel slightly happy that Xabi & Ebola both played average and were on the losing side? Funnily enough, out of the two, I think Ebola has a better chance to be on that team next year. Xabi just doesn't fit their current system (even more so when Kaka is healthy).

Xavi - best creative force in football. He's well ahead of Pirlo in that category now.

Ronaldo & Ramos
... Are there two bigger cunts on a team than these two?

agree

Maybe we should put a cheeky bid in for Alonso then. He could just be the missimg link.

That would greatly surprise me. I have seen Alonso perform very well for them. As far as I've seen / heard, Kaka is the one with the big question mark over his head.

Really?

Every time I've seen him, Xabi has looked average. In fact, I cannot think of one performance he's had which matched the level we saw last year with us. He needs to be the 'engine' as he was with us to really cause problems and that's now how Pellegrini uses him. Maybe I just want him to fail ... meh.

I've noticed you say this on numerous occasions and whilst you're right in saying that he's not performing to the same level he showed last year, I don't know about him not fitting in. Real like to be quite direct, so it's inevitable that the ball gets played into the path of Ronaldo or Kaka quite quickly, but I don't see why that should make Alonso redundant.

This is the way I see it - he rarely has a chance to be the 'main creator' of attacks. As you say, the ball is moved quickly to Kaka or Ronaldo and he's got little chance to hold the ball and spray passes around, which as we both know - he does excellently. If that's how Real want to play (& it does make sense), they don't really need a CM like Xabi ...

Have you heard anything about Kaka leaving? That will probably mean Chelsea rumors again no?

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that Kaka would be leaving, simply that Real probably haven't seen the best of him yet and he's had a bit of a slow start in Spain.

As for not needing a central midfield like Alonso, I still don't see why not. It's not as though he's bypassed and rather him passing the ball to the attackers than someone like M.Diarra, surely?

Arbeloa scores, Real Madrid 2-1 Atletico Madrid, March 28, 2010

One great pass doesn't highlight that he's done rather little this year ...

Ok, I'll cut the shit. What I'm saying is Barca need Lucas. There I said it.

That's the one. What an idiot.

I don't think it's him. He doesn't use those lines, it's some other tit.
And he's probably worse then tommy smyth(witha 'y').

Alonsos been quite pivotal to Real this year IMO. Hes scored a few important goals and whilst cr9 (jesus i hate that name the spanish media have put on that greasy portugese c*nt) has been taking wild shot after wild shot alonso has been keeping it tidy in the middle! To be honest in europe or la liga this season i havent seen a midfield (generally alonso) play so tight to xavi until tonight! And it worked for all of 20 minutes!!

Metzelder, L Diarra, M Diarra, Guti, Raul, Benzema.
Marquez, Txigrinski, Toure, Iniesta, Henry, Bojan.

Both subs' benches from the game. Deary me.

Kuyt, Degen, Cavalieri, Ayala, Pacheco, Benayoun, Lucas

Looks about the same to me.... Four full internation-- oh, never mind, it's too ridiculous to even try a windup.

Those two clubs have the two highest wage bills in the world, so it's no great surprise that they have fantastic players on the bench.

I think it's clear that he's not pivotal to their team in the same way he was to ours.
