After years of English teams dominating Europe, does anyone else think the balance might shift slightly back to Spain as a result of recent outgoings?

It'll certainly make the CL alot more interesting after the rather predictable "3 English teams in the semi's" scenario of recent years.

Also regards ourselves, after the loss of Alonso and Arbeloa to Madrid (not to mention Macca and Owen), and the potential departure of Masher to Barca, how will this effect how we're viewed on the continent?

Players look for stability aswell as money, if we're viewed as a team that might lose it's star players to other sides, thus making us seem a lesser prospect than Madrid and Barca, how does this effect our standing in todays game and our ability to attract big names?

A sick kid and shitty weather to look at. Yep.

Liverpool will still be seen as an infinitely more stable club then any of the top Spanish sides - selling Alonso and Arbeloa won't change that.

Players from Spain will appreciate the attraction of playing for Madrid far more than we do anyway.

Barca and Real are the two most glamorous clubs in the world. But that's been true for a long time, and it didn't stop English clubs beating them in Europe. What's killing us at the moment is the tax on high earners, the weakness of the pound, and the shitty English weather.

I think we're seeing a shift in the balance of power to Spain. La Liga is the more attractive league now and I cant wait for their season to start.
