YNWA Dirk Kuyt.
Always gave 100% for this club and will be remembered as such.
Sad to see his back, but it indeed looks like time for a change for both parties.

Must have been big wages. He was one of our most expensive signings ever when we signed him and he'd agreed further deals on top of that, so I'd imagine he'd have been at the high end, which I guess is unjustifiable for someone who was now essentially a bit part player.

In a perfect world, he'd have taken a pay cut and still been around as players like him are essential in the locker room. Good luck in Turkey -

I've been vocal in my criticism of dirk, but he's a fantastic professional; and bar an ugly media patch at the end, he is an honorary scouser

Good luck Dirk Kuijt

He tarnished his love affair with the club after that interview but as a player he was a great professional.
He was also criminally under-rated by some.
Ynwa Dirk.

YNWA Dirk.

Best move all round. Now bring in a proper winger please Brendan.

Meh, been out of sorts for well over a season (even by his patchy standards). I wish him well but I doubt we'll miss him, as a team.

At times Dirk did my head in , especially when playing out right and in one of his slumps . But in fairness that probably wasn't all his doing as it wasn't a role he was made for or the type of player i thought was needed there for a really successful team .
But overall when you consider the big goals , pure fight and effort put in you have to say he was a proper liverpool player . He just got what it meant to be here .

I mean he might be getting on but why the fuck would you give him a 1m buy out clause ? But he seemed to want another challenge and a big pay day so fair enough .

YNWA Dirk. Great servant and a fantastic player for us.

Was very poor this season and is on the decline, so its the right time to let him go. Shite fee (Purslow should be kicked in the nuggets), but frees up a decent bulk of wages. Prob 70-80k

I'd love to know what happened at the end with that peculiar set of dubious press interviews. He was always so astute when it came to such things and then it suddenly went haywire.

Hmmmm. Dirks recent press flirtations disappointed me. However he claimed that it was because he wasnt in Kennys plans. But kenny got sacked and he COULD have been in Brendans plans. But he didnt stick around to find out. He didnt go to Holland because they dont pay enough and he didnt wait to see if he fitted into the new boss plans. He just left. For Money. After telling the shitrag he would.

Unsuprised given footballers are all cunts.

Stevie pays Dirk tribute

Steven Gerrard has paid tribute to Dirk Kuyt after the player informed Liverpool FC today that he has reached an agreement to sign for Fenerbahce.
The deal is expected to be completed in the next few days, and the skipper was quick to praise his good friend.
Gerrard told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Dirk is a great player, a great person and was a great servant to Liverpool.
"From the first day he came to the club, he was someone you could trust and knew that he would never let you down on the pitch.
Dirk: All 50 league goals
"I know how much scoring against Cardiff in the Carling Cup Final meant to him but he was already assured a part of the club's history even before helping win that trophy.
"I will miss him around the place and I wish him and his family all the best in Turkey."

Seems pretty Owen-esque to me

Who knows, it could still be explained as a tabloid reporter lying (no surprise there) and an agent speaking on his behalf, but it's just odd it happened at all with Dirk.

Wow - Dirk is gone. I guess a few more are going to follow as well. Maxi for one I would have thought. I liked Dirk because he seemed a good guy on the pitch. He struck up an understanding with Suarez straight away and helped him settle in. Suarez speaks dutch so I think that was part of it. He always popped up with important goals too. I'm not that bothered he's going though. For one he had an almost inexplicable habit of constantly losing the ball - Especially when he was out on the wing. Thanks Dirk and good luck in Turkey.

Oh well - Onwards and upwards.
