Un-fucking-believable............for 3 years I've had to read/listen to a few supposedly intelligent Liverpool fans make excuses for our hugely ineffective (I'm being polite) midfielder Lucas but here we have some fuckers decrying the ability of a 20 year old kid who has played a handful of matches for us and nearly always away from his favourite position.
Waaa Waaaa Waaaah. He's fucking shit. I've seen him play about half a dozen times now and he looks totally out of his depth. His performance Vs Braga was ONE of the worst i have ever seen in a Liverpool shirt.....against FUCKING BRAGA.

He may turn out to be fucking Baresi at Centre Back like but he makes me want to kill kittens at FB. All the defensive ability of a Traore with the attacking instinct of Josemi......and the positional sense of Insua.

The next Stevie Nicol he is not.

Hes shite.

I think he could too. He didn't seem THAT bad!

its hard for young defenders. All young players make mistakes but if a defender does it its normally a big problem.

Most get better with experience and can even learn to adapt to cover for anything they lack. The really bad ones are ones who appear to have it all but keep making stupid mistakes. Like Traore. From the little we've seen of Wilson he doesn't seem like one of those.
Indeed. He certainly does NOT seem to have it all.

Now that Oncey has spoken I am convinced the lad will be a star 😉

I seriously think that people are being over harsh on him and that he has the potential to be a very decent player, although maybe not a left back.
He's a centre back, judge him as a centre back. How good would a 18 year old Sami look at left back?
Hes looked absolutely shite at centre back.
He doesn't have the physical attributes for one to say, 'Oh well, at least he's got the height to defend crosses', or 'At least he's got the speed to make up for his deficiencies', nor does he have the skill set for one to be impressed with, like you could with someone like Agger.
He's not aggressive either.
So he's a pretty short, classy centre back, except he's not very classy at all.

He'll never make it for us.

Jeezees, some of you lot are quick to write off a player. 19 years old, played a handfull of games and some has decided he's shite already? Most of the games in our "reserve" team at left back.

Fuck me, I'm glad none of you are scouts or works as a coach.

He's looked very suspect at left back and didn't really impress as one of the 3 centre backs when I saw him there.

However, it's worth bearing in mind that in almost all of the games he's played in, pretty much *everyone* has looked shit

That should work in theory. I've never seen a partnership of two left-footed centre backs though. Ever.

And I ask whether he is for the future because if Agger remains at the club, the left centre-back position is his and I don't see Wilson dislodging him. I'd have been happier if we'd gone after someone like Cahill or Shawcross as a future replacement for Carra.

Perhaps Wilson can play left-back though, in the Maldini mould? Has anyone seen him play? Is he quick enough to be a full-back?
I've seen him play. He's not a FB. I suppose he could fill in if required, but that's about it.
As I said. Shame on Oncy.

He has yet to start a game for LFC as one of a 2 man CB formation.

He doesn't have the physical attributes for one to say, 'Oh well, at least he's got the height to defend crosses', He's over 6' 2" and IS strong in the air!

or 'At least he's got the speed to make up for his deficiencies' He's quicker than most centre backs

He's certainly good on the ball and no doubt will show this when he settles in.

He's not aggressive either. He's quite physical and won't get pushed around

So he's a pretty short, classy centre back, except he's not very classy at all. Tall, Classy, strong in the air, quick and good on the ball

He'll never make it for us. He's got as much chance as Kelly and we're blessed to have the 2 best young CB's in te country.

All correct apart from the bits I've corrected JM ;-)

I'm not gong to judge or write of a young player who has been played out of position pretty muh everytime he has appeared in the the first team in games where senior staff have struggled (let alone a kid). worth noting that carra looked out of his depth when he first came into the first team and over time grew into the eperienced pro he is today.
*whispers* You do know im fucking about right? He was poor vs braga but hes a kid.
You have to give him a season in and around the first team before judging him. 5 games in a shit team in a shit competition is nothing. He'll be fine in the future.

He's a centre half kid playing in Liverpool's first team as a left back in a handful of matches.

Positional sense can be taught. Look at Ahsley Cole for your best example of that.

He's got ability, he can play, and he'll get better. Much better.

Very early to be writing him off at this stage.

I think you've been watching a different player DB.
He's not quick, gives the ball away, is very ordinary on the ball and I have not seen any evidence of him being strong in the air, thus my assumption that he wasn't tall.
We'll see, I guess, but I'd rather have him out on loan and make something of his non-talent than see him in our squad. As it stands our fourth choice CB is better than him so he's got to be off.

I'd certainly like to see him out on loan at the start of next season. Preferably to a Premier leaue team (maybe one of the newly promotes ones) but by the end of next season I expect him to be pushing for a regular starting berth in our first team. Obviously I'm not going to be able to convince you of his talent so no point in carrying this on but let's hope for the teams sake I'm right.

For all those saying judge him at Centre Back or his preffered position, or this or that, ultimately he can only be judged on his performances and they have not been great. And we cant make excuses because of his age, if hes good enough hes old enough and all that.
He may well come good, until then, its a position that needs fixed.

Everyone should be judged on their actions.

CB is a position that requires maturity. When did Carra come of age?

Old enough good enough bollocks enough. He's *never* been a FB. How the fuck can you judge a young player based on a few performances when the entire team was shite and the player was out of position?

Exactly. It's a bleedin' good job we didnt judge Rushie after he failed to score in his first 8 games for us. Top of the table, we're making loads of chances for him but 8 games and he can't score - get rid!!
