I'd like to teach the world about Ings...

Deal done and dusted, apparently.

I've got a good feeling about Ings, he's got alot of fight and determination, I reckon he'll score a fair few too.

He obviously better than borini, lambert, mario and aspaz, I can't see the opposition to it. Not costing the club any extra in wages either.

Sturridge, new guy, Origi, Yesil, Sinclair and at a push Sterling to play in one position up front.

If we play with two upfront, that effectively leaves us with Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Markovic & Ibe effectively fighting over 1 attacking midfield role - unless they drop further back in midfield or move to full back.

If we add Ings & another new striker whet does that leave the likes of Yesil & Sinclair - on loan?

Obviously all of our transfer dealings will be with a mind as to the system BR is planning for next season. I have no doubt that BR is staying - he'd have gone by now if FSG were unhappy, they don't need a sit-down with him to make a decision of that magnitude when they've likely been on the blower before / after and in-between matches and know what his thoughts/plans are.

We have around 8 players to replace and although I've no doubt 70-80M or so in the kitty that soon gets whittled away with so many to replace.

Defence : OUT Johnson, Jones & Enrique. Happy to see Toure sign a new 1 year deal. Seems like the end for Ilori. New keeper to replace Jones. Clyne at RB would be good business for a good (potentially very good) player.

Midfield : OUT Gerrard, likely Lucas (but I'd be happy to keep him). I don't see Can as ready for CM/DM and he'll probably be used sparingly to ease him in and see how he goes. We certainly can't rely on him alone. So that's Milner and one other CM. Sterling will likely go so that means losing a midfielder though if we are playing two up front then I don't see the need for a direct replacement when we have plenty of cover.

Strikers : This is obviously where it all went badly wrong last season and where we can't afford to fuck it up this window. In all likelihood OUT Balo, Lambert and Borini & Sturridge can't be relied on to stay injury free. We need a new striker to lead the line and replacements for the other two come in the form of Ings and Origi. That 'new unknown' striker is the key part of the puzzle and where I don't mind us spending 30-40m if that's what it'll cost.

All the talk is of getting our deals done early, that being the case : New.Striker, Ings, Kovacic, Milner, Clyne, New.Keeper,

Ming & New Keeper

Skrtel, Sakho, Lovern, Toure, (Can), Wisdom (?).

Clyne, Moreno, Flanno (fingers crossed), Manquillo, Brannegan (= at least 3 players capable for both RB & LB so long as Flanno recovers well).

Milner, Allen, Hendo, Kovacic, Can, Lucas (or a replacement), Canos perhaps.

Coutinho, Lallana, Ibe, Markovic, Wilson, Kent

New.Striker, Sturridge, Ings, Origi.

Overall that looks a lot better re. Striking options, Central Defence is unchanged, FBs are improved, GK should be improved and that just leaves Central Midfield where I'm still unconvinced though Milner + Hendo + Kovacic could be a good central three. Obviously we'd be looking at our young players (Ibe, Markovic, Moreno, Manquillo, Can) to kick on from last season and for new young stars in Wilson, Kent, Williams, Rossiter and Brannegan to come in and add some value when selected. It looks better than last season .. but not enough for Top 4 IMO, unless United fuck up their Summer dealings. We are still relying too much on youth and lack leaders, high quality and maturity in key positions.

Because he's not going to be significantly better and doesn't improve the first team. The only way this is a good signing is if we sign another striker, a superstar, which would mean Ings doesn't play too many games - which kind of renders his signing a bit redundant. We should concentrate on signing quality, not back up... back up for nothing.

The two times we have nearly won the league we had quality in our first eleven. That is what has us challenging, not these types of signings.

If we're really interested in Benteke I'd imagine we'd have a look at Martinez at the right price.

So we would be paying
40m plus a settlement of maybe 4m
For
Ings
Benteke
Milner
Clyne

Hmmmmm!

Ings is far better suited to a high-pressing game than any of the strikers we have currently. There's no doubt we need some talent in the side, but I for one will be very pleased to see a hard-working front man again. It's been sorely missing from our game.

Well there you have it - Ings has been given the Dreamie seal of approval.

He's the new Shane Long.

I don't remember ever crying out for Shane Long.

I guess we'll see with Ings but my predictions player wise haven't been bad over the last few years.

Is Ings actually that hard working or to people just assume it because he's English and pretty average?

I stand corrected Dreamie.

It's was @Leo that started a thread about him "Better than Sturridge"

Your predictions these days seem to be putting down a marker in threads that are already full of people saying the same thing, you little rascal. Lots of us have rated Ings and wanted him to sign for the club, but I suppose if he does well you'll be digging out this bold prediction as proof of your predictive powers!

Ings will score goals for LFC if he signs

Bagsy first to call it

Well there's a surprise.

You'd have a good feeling about aids if it were wrapped in a Liverpool scarf.

Shit like this makes it really hard to maintain my I'm working hard boss face...

plus if anyone asks what I'm laughing at I don't think aids joke is a good answer.
