Danny Ings - Confirmed

'At the moment'. 9th June.

Feels the same way as last summer. Get in the third choice striker for 4-6 million (I am assuming the Ings will cost atleast that much from the tribunal).

Now I am guessing we will spend the rest of the summer trying desperately to shift the Balotelli, Lambert, Borini which we will find it difficult to do and take way longer than expected. Most likely Lambert will be the easiest to shift.

Season will start and there will be panic in the last week of the transfer window. Either we will overpay for someone like Benteke or continue the season with Ings leading our line.

There needs to be one or two game changing talents brought in. I think we can all agree on that?

"Thanks to @BurnleyOfficial for 4 brilliant years. The fans backed me every step of the way, I will never forget that. Good luck always!" he said.

"Thanks for your messages. Delighted to be joining #LFC. A special club with great players. I will give everything to be successful."

I know the money is mad at the minute, so that seems cheap, but I think that's too much.

Like all transfers, it's only a good deal if he is successful. Otherwise it's another few million that could have been spent elsewhere. It all adds up

Agreed. That's a proper fee.

I wonder whether he got a proper bosman sized signing on fee as well.

He will have got a signing on fee, most likely a couple million at least. So around £10mil... are people still okay with that?

My view too. People will point to the current market, and the fact that it is only one signing, but they all add up. I don't really want to post that list of signings that I posted in another thread the other day to prove my point but...

It was a shite signing as a free.
Now its a 10m waste of fucking money on a player we will sell at a loss within 18 months.
We are fucking dismal

[article=http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/premierleague/article4489385.ece]Burnley see the £11 million Fulham paid Leeds United for Ross McCormack a year ago as the benchmark, Liverpool view that transfer as a one off and believe several other fees, including the £3.5 million that the FA ordered Chelsea to pay Manchester City for Daniel Sturridge in January 2010, should be used when determining Ings’s price.[/article]

I don't think anyone thinks he'll be truly shite Dreamy, so fucking settle. Most of us are fairly meh about it cos he's a lower league striker that hasn't done a lot so our expectations aren't that great. If we sign the likes of Benteke then he's going to be at least 3rd choice striker at the club.

His best hope is that he can prove to be a solid impact player off the bench, cos that's where he's going to be getting most opportunities to begin with.
