Crystal Palace v Liverpool

Yeah he is. The guy is sharp over the first few yards, plus he never stops running. And he's better technically than Hendo too.

That aside, I was talking about the back 6.

I don't think anyone would argue about Milner's fitness and stamina, but it's hardly an obvious weakness of Henderson's. In fact it's the opposite.

Give me 20 minutes.
`Hold FIRE ....they rate things are going the rest of the team will have broken metatarsals, torn cartilages, ruptured tendons or fractured tibias within ten days approx .....and you wont have to lay a glove on anyone.

Personally I'm still waiting for a performance to really rave about as far as Keita is concerned. I can see his potential is massive, and he's had some great touches, but - and I know I'm in a minority - I'm yet to be really, really, impressed with his performances. That game will do him the world of good - he looked a bit tired in the second half, and he'll work on that.
I don't think he's put together a complete display yet.

But what's encouraging are the flashes he shows in only his 2nd competitive game. When he actually settles in, I think he will be on the VVD/Salah level for our midfield.

Acknowledged -

** bummer - that would have been fun **

I think Henderson is very fit and has got great stamina.. he's just not particularly powerful (to keep up with a Zaha) or brush him off the ball. Gini despite his faults, can do that. And today it helped.

It was perfect back 6 for the game against a lightening quick Palace side.

Against other teams, I'd expect Hendo and Fabinho to come back in.

Can’t wait to get in the away end again. Was seat pretty near it and it was just so fucking epic. Palace fans silenced after about 10 mins. We were wasteful with a lot of our counters, no idea how Mane stayed on his feet for his goal.

His balance there was something else. Surprised it hasn't been more remarked upon. Really great goal that was.

Same for me. I dont see the hype so far. I think Milner/Henderson have been better in both games so far
Milner has been our best ... the front 3 dont actually look up for it yet. Strange game today they were well playing within themselves. So glad we got that 2nd goal coz you dont know how often man city will start spanking other teams...its good to be in touching goal differene distance.

TAA improved as the game went on, especially with his delivery, but defensively he needed a bit more help, because he had two of the quickest players in the league both attacking him down the left.

He got lots of space when they went a man down and still did nothing with it.

Love that big bearded yellow wall on goal for us.
He's fucking boss.

I fully expect us to concede a couple a season from a wayward or intercepted pass, & maybe a couple more from a punch that gets intercepted or falls to the opposition.

In trade off we get a keeper who plays so far forwards at times he's practically a sweeper, with balls of steel, who looks so fucking commanding yet relaxed it's unreal, & can actually save the fucking ball when he needs to as well.

I'm chuffed to bits.

Love how patient we are.

Worth mentioning again, with Salah in top form we'd have battered them. He missed at least three gilt edged chances.
Strange thing is.. he got the pen..and subdued them with the sending off...and got the assist for Mane. If not scoring then at least his talents are best used in other areas of the game.

Also what is it with these posts about how lucky we are to win at Palace...we have won at their place for the last three seasons havnt we ?

This!

I thought Alisson broke VVD at one point, it was a classic Pepe Reina bundle every one outta the way to get the ball, opposition player, own player, ref whoever whatever!
Thankfully Virgil got up and still bossed the game

I've been moaning about that since reina left.

All good keepers need to be willing to plow through everything in their way to get the ball.

So nice not to have a shitbag in front of the net.

This is the hype regarding Keita. His touch sends Townsend to Milton Keyns buying a hot dog.

Of course, yes, but he also gave the ball away in bad positions. He's going to need time, of course. I'm a teensy bit surprised at how much hype there already is about the guy, but I'm not saying he's not GOING to be a really exciting player for us.
