Crystal Palace - Post Match

Enrique was terrible attacking. I think he also lost Gayle for the Palace goal.

Sterling is no wing-back; but some of his passing in the first half was shocking. Even if he was playing in an unfamiliar position he should know how to pass.

Cant wait to see 3-5-2 with Johnson and Cissokho. They should be better than Sterling and Enrique.

I know we're shite in the second half, but fuck me, 3-1, 3-0 at half time is exactly what we needed to help us through that.
I never in a million years expected us to be right up there at this point or any other point this season, so well the fuck done lads!!!
Without jizzing, lads, just imagine Coutinho when he gets back pulling the string behind those two freaks of nature.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I've jizzed.

Yes, I am quite excited with the return of all our injured players. We could have a very strong first 11.

Thought we were very good at times and it should have ended 5-1.
Rodgers will probably give them a bollocking for slowing it off to much but you felt like we at any time could step it up again. And we did after their goal.

Poor man marking again though. Gerrard have to do better against Gayle.

Thought it was a good solid result, I'm pleased he went with the 4 at the back and not the 3.
I thought Enrique and Sterling were absolute bollocks, they provide nothing, and Enrique is getting to be a liability at the back too.
Sakho and Sturridge were very good, Suarez not far behind.
These are the sort of games that we've got to keep plugging away at and keep the points coming in.

Seconds half was a bit shit again apart from the odd spell when we pushed forward. We seemed to go into our shell and go into two backs of 4 and invite them on, we didn't start tackling really until they got to the edge of the box, we need to be all over them like a rash as soon as the cross the halfway line.

United were pretty average for most of last season but had rvp/rooney who won the league for them.

The SAS could do something similar.

Goes back to dreaming......

If someone has links of the gifs or videos of the goals can they link it please?

Out so missed them & on phone so can't go through the match thread to get them.

I can easily see Johnson, Cissoko and Coutinho coming in for Sterling, Enrique and Moses and we step it up another 2 or 3 levels.

Again we haven't performed well for 70 out of 90 minutes (I don't expect any team to perform for 90 minutes solid) but we are top of the league. It's better being there playing shit with better to come than being there playing at your best expecting a drop.

Comfortable win despite foot off the gas in the second half. Good 3 points. Never in danger of losing or giving any points. Well done. YNWA.

Can we play em very week??
I bet 3-0 Suarez TSF 🙁
Top of the league again, when was the last time we were 9 points in front of scum..?

I like how Moses just watches Suarez waltz past and then nonchalantly steps aside for him to slipping shoot the ball in that gif.
He even has his hands on his hips. "I'm sure he will score, I am just going to stand here and enjoy the view."

We're 7 games in, and none of us think we've had one good game yet. Every game - cup included - has seen excellent periods (at most a half), and then at most, long periods of containment of pressure (at most a half).

I'm curious to see if ...
  • Are we about to pick up our game and start playing well and dismantling teams?
  • Is this a maturing team that is learning how to win?
  • Is the Sturridge-Suarez partnership about to be one of the most deadly in premier league history?
  • Is the fact the league is in a weakened state this year our best chance since Rafa's 2nd place finish to Valencia the league?
I know a lot of people are complaining as we've been average at best. But results are all that really counts in this game, and let's hope this continues!

Apparently when the Palace fans sang "Is this your first trip to Anfield?" the crowd responded with "This is your last trip to Anfield".
I sat right next to the away stand and they fucking owned us. They barely heard our reply. Our support was pretty shit but other than that, fantastic first half.
Suarez and Sturridge were fucking brilliant.

Apart from certain pockets of the ground our support is fucking shit. Yet another reason to lower prices and let locals actually afford to go.

3 at the back by its very nature is gearing your game towards outscoring the opposition, its inevitable that you will get caught out.

Barca have outscored opppnents for a decade with a preppy average back line; im not buying into this chat of a ropey back line that the commentators and pundits were speaking of earlier.
Weve got some decent players to come back too.
