Apparently one of the new ideas the PL is considering is to play all games behind closed doors at one or two neutral grounds in the midlands. The reason for this is to cut down on travel and avoid 'home' fans at each club gathering near the stadia. But seeing how this would lead to all PL clubs and their entourages, and the media, congregating in one place like a mini Olympic village, and would serve as a national magnet for all supporters, I can't see much logic in it.

Perhaps they could build an indoor centre on some remote uninhabited Scottish island and play all the games there, and block all access by fans. Or would they then be concerned that fans would congregate on the nearest available shore? Are fans really that mental?

Day 1 of working from home for me. I think this is going to be really boring.
Try what has been over 2 months for us. Bar supermarket runs, 1 day traveling China to Austria and 3 days walking around in Vienna before they brought in the social distancing ban even on walks in the park .... just after we'd completed our 14 days quarantine !

I really hope we don't have another 2 months of this. I'll go stir crazy .. and get fat !

They just need to make a massive push to play 2,3,4 games in the next couple of weeks, on the fucking moon for all I care. Then call off the league if need be.

Right... play all the remaining games 5 minutes each way in a neutral ground over a weekend.

End result will be the same.

Sorted

They have also paid all local food & drink suppliers that they've awarded contracts to for next season, their payments upfront for all of next season, so they can stay open. Including the excellent community run HomeBaked.

I have almost no regrets from my trip, but not waiting in line for one of their pies is one.

Homebaked are amazing!

One of my claims to fame (lol) I was judging at the national pie awards a couple of years back in the vegetarian category (fun but I felt like I was on hot Fuzz and would be killed if I said anything bad about Melton mowbray and inbreeding) but Homebaked came second or third and I only found out afterwards it was them so I couldn't score them high with bias.

Great to see them doing well.

They are fucking amazing. They've also won the contract to supply Everton next season.

They're set up to do takeout so can stay open, & they're in talks to set up delivery of cooked & frozen, plus in talks with both resident care organisations/councils to supply them meals at a lower cost than normal retail, & foodbanks to use the foodbanks donations for the same reasons, the logic being the money raised to help locals goes back into the local community through the small businesses that they use as suppliers, instead of them buying goods from supermarkets.

All the independent cafes and bars round here have been doing takeaway and delivery for the past week. It’s the best way to try and keep themselves afloat and the knock on effect through their supply chain.

Can they ship to Ireland? I really crave a few decent pies 🙂
