I have got an ominous feeling this season will be voided.
To fucking where? The moon? No way the club let them jet off anywhere during this.
They're literally our biggest assets & there's a chance they could contract it, they'll want them as close to our medical staff at all times as possible.
But also at least 1-2 metres away from them.
It's inevitable. It's gonna get 'suspended' for some totally arbitrary period. Then once the Euros is postponed on Tuesday, they'll choose a date, prob end of May, to resume.
If this is still hitting its peak, as the experts said yesterday, then it won't be resumed & eventually they'll have to decide how to deal with this season.
And despite all that's happening worldwide....there are those who are still saying it's not as serious as the flu.

I don't think there are many options to be honest. Say they decide to play the matches behind closed doors, teams like Arsenal and Chelsea can't play since they are quarantined. Even if they are left behind for now who knows which other team will contract the virus? And is it fair to have teams missing potentially chunk of their players due to the virus and still expecting them to compete?
If they delay the season what's gonna happen to those out of contract? Or already contracted to move clubs?
Etc etc.
It's a big clusterfuck.

The reason why the season won’t be cancelled is going to be down to money!
Will sky and BT by ok losing out on viewing figures for games they’ve paid for? What about clubs and their deals? We would be on to a fortune in bonus payments from our sponsors. What happens to prize money? The season is voided and nobody gets a penny? Will Leeds and WBA take it on the chin? Or they call the league as it stands then you’d get legal battles from almost the whole league as there is enough games to save themselves from relegation or European spots.
The sensible option is to cancel the Euros. Or play it the same time as the AFCON. It can’t be delayed a season because of World Cup qualification and the club World Cup taking place next summer.
We reconvene domestic football in 6-8 weeks time provided people haven’t lost all their shit in that time.

Our only hope is the Euros get cancelled and when everything dies down a bit, they play the remaining fixtures during when the Euros would've been played.
If that doesn't happen, then I can't see when or how they'll resume the fixtures, and the league will be scrapped.

That would be a proper fucking curse wouldn't it ? It was all going very well wasn't it - the media and all, and suddenly we are the cause of it. Another way to look at it is, that since the winter break we have been performing with a bit of inconsistency and losing games - what if this virus is to ensure that we do actually win the league by default, because we never get those 2 wins - and instead we just win one game and lose the rest.
